If i decided to turbo my 5sfe engine would my auto tranny remain unharmed or would I need to replace it? I don't want any people saying why auto, lol I got the car for 5,000$ and it was an extremely good deal. 1997 Celica GT convertible with 48k miles how could I. I would only want to push around 200hp with maybe 210ft lb torque.

swap the tranny for the s54 (6gen manual), or E153.
if you really want an auto i would look into the 01-05 camry/corolla, not sure if they will bolt on tho

6gen auto is good for about 150hp haha

Hmmm...didn't Solaras use an auto transmission as well? That should work, assuming an auto was available on the same engines as used an E153.

solara uses the same auto tranny as 90-99 celica's
if your talking soarer, its rear wheel drive.
but the solara/camry use the e153. (manual)

Thinking Solara -- reasoning being that if the A541E can handle the V6 it should be able to handle a turbo-charged 5S. Though perhaps not one as well-tweaked as Manny's. The later versions of the 1MZFE with VVT-i pushed 220+ ft/lbs.

yea, but will the 5s ecu be able to control it?
prolly easier and cheaper to just manual swap and actually be able to enjoy the power anyway.
