I have a feeling she's gonna go sometime next year, since it's still the original. How much does a shop charge on average?

What?? I heard it was like 800 for labor and all the new clutch and everything. They sell all the parts on sites for 300. Or is that separate?? I have a feeling my clutch is going too...

It is damn ridiculous how much a clutch cost. I just had mine done last week. I called 6 different places. all cost 900-1000 to do. Its a bunch of crap. 7 hours of labor and the clutch itself....the only thing I hate about my car

Cost me 700 for everything to be replaced and make sure it was in good working order... was a little more than I planned on spending but I have one of the best mechanics I know do the job since If I must have someone messing around with me engine I want someone who is reliable.

if you have all the right tools and a friend that knows what they are doing.. changing a clutch won't cost you that much cause most of the times if you got to a shop the labor is more then part it self... which is the case with most parts..and yea change a clutch shoul be a 2-4 hours job... I never changed the clutch on a 6gc but i have change a fare amount of them on diffrenet cars...

You pretty much need a lift to drop your transmission out, don't you?

or you can hold up your engine with a jack...but that's a bit risky... There's a lot more than just that also... I can explain...but I doubt anyone would care to know... I did my clutch with my cousin, for the price of some oil, a clutch, and sweat... And... 600-800 is typical range for a shop to do a clutch... anything beyond that is bloody exhorbitant to me... it will probably be cheaper for an ST... more for a GT... size and difficulty matters with some shops... |

well using a floor jack and jackstand it safer... you just get a engine support bar that get goes from one fender to the other then a chain that ties around your engien then you would just a tranmission jack to drop hold and slide the transmission out -------------------- |

well yes u do have to drop the tranny completely out of the car, and then its very simple. The guys who work on my car say it was one of the easiest clutches they have ever changed. But if its ur first clutch then u prolly need the flywheel machined.
