i would personally choose between the red and blue top. full swap should be $2500 in parts only if you dont plan on replacing things.

Strongest in what way? The 4A-GZE's are supercharged, and the blacktop is rated at 160hp.

If you saw a silvertop for 899 and it includes the transmission, uncut wiring harness, ecu, etc I would say jump on it.

With a couple connections I was able to get a Blacktop clip for $945 shipped, but typically they're in the $1400-$2100 range depending if you want a 5sp or 6sp. If you want to go turbo go with a silvertop.

The redtop and bluetop are antiquated motors, but if you want to do a serious engine build those are pretty inexpensive.

The GZE's are great if you want to go turbo, because they're already set up. Yank the supercharger and put a turbo on and get your power, or leave the supercharger and then turbo it!

why would u chose red/blue top? they are older generation and less powerful?
silvertop is a great engine for DD, blacktop is more performance based.

and then there's the gze

Well I guess I'll go the GZE way is I can find one. i thought it would be a good project to turbo the 20 valver.... My goal is around 250whp. You know anyone on here with a turbo 4agze. How much power does it put out?

if the celica is your only ride then just build the motor until its fully ready to go in and if your shooting for 250whp get good parts and build the motor right the first time

I'm not really happy with a 20V especially in our cars. You will notice that the celi has a lot of fat and it doesn't perform too well with that extra weight. That's why I'm swapping my 20V into a corolla.
