I have a 1994 toyota Celica ST 1.8L 7A-FE
i found this engine http://www.jdmenginedepot.com/jdm_engine_d...olla/Prizm_7AFE
the person on the site, said "All that should ideally fit. The most qualified person to answer your question would be your mechanic." Could some one take a look for me. All the specs seem to be the same and it looks identical to the one i have, but it says its for a 93-99 prizm/corrola, i think the celica engine is the same as the corrola? am i correct, will this fit my car no problem? thanks-

If it's a 7AFE, it'll fit. Any Toyota motor with an A block will bolt directly into your car (7AFE, 4AGE, etc.) but wiring is a different story. But basically, any 7A will fit in your car.

What exactly are you needing a new motor for? Just out of curiosity.

my car is burning oil, the piston rings are bad, so instead of trying to go through it, and mess with it, ill just buy one with low miles one it.lol. thanks by the way

strange engine. this engine has no distributor and has an extra sensor on the timing cover.

my 97 the last of the 7afe doesn't have all those goodies. Is this a JDM motor?

This looks like its got 2 spark plug wires that splits into 4 and doesn't run on a dizzy but a COP type of distributor prob hence that extra sensor for timing.
Even the intake manifold is completely different. I would say avoid this motor because it might not work.

You're kind of far away from me, but I was gonna say I have a 7A sitting in my garage, 130,00 miles on it. Still runs but I'm missing a few things. The motor is worthless to me, and you're more than welcome to have it but I don't really want to deal with the hassle of shipping it, so it'd have to be pickup only.

you COULD, swap heads out. i think the heads are the same actually, so try swapping the dizzy on and see what happens. but try to fine the correct engine.

it will bolt up, you would need to use some parts off the old motor, IIRC you would have to change out the intake cam, and the cover for the distributor hole unbolts, and you would bolt your distributor in.
you may also have to use the old intake manifold as well as waternecks.
the extra sensor is a cam sensor. it will also have a crank sensor but you would just leave those unplugged.
and of course you'd have to use your harness and ecu.

I more of just a swap it in, if you have to change cam gears and what not and mess around with the head to make everything work then its pretty much a useless swap and not worth the time and money.
