Hey peoples,

New around here. Recently I’ve been upgrading the look to my 6GC and even though the car is looking good I’ve been getting the itch for a little bit of performance.

My 7A is slow as molasses going uphill in January and I need to do something about it. Are there any bolt-on applications that will actually make any difference or do I just have to suck it up and lay some real cash flow to get this car running right?

I’m not totally incapable of working on my car but perfection cripples me a bit so that is why I’m looking for bolt-on products. If it’s more serious, I might have to get my mechanic to do it but I will if it is semi affordable. Thanks for your help in advance.

hi

this forum has been around for ages and this topic has been discussed over 100 times. And all of them have drawn to a very similar conclusion.

At the most hp you will gain with any easy bolt-on parts with the 7a is around 10 hp. But along with that you will gain more throttle response and torque. This is a really down to earth figure.

If you want more then 10 hp you will need to either will have to get into turbos , which can yield 210 hp +, or engine head swap. you can search the forums for more info on turbos by searching "7afte".

hope that helps.

thanks man. That's all I need. Some direction. It is so frustrating. My mechanic had told me the same thing but he suggested nitrous over the turbo as far as bang for the buck goes. I might just do an engine swap.
