I wouldn't go so wide on the stock wheel just because the tires will bulge out. I would stick to a 205/50R-15

I think the 6gc factory GT wheels are the same as a 5th gen GT-S wheel which is a 15x6.5. Having said that, the OE size on a 5th gen GT-S is a 215/50/15. They look amazing, and will give you a wider tread width if thats what your looking for.

225's are slightly large for a 7.5" wide wheel, but a good match if 215 isn't available.

if you have 6.5 or 7" wide, stick to 205's.

I have some 225/50 R16 toyo proxes 4 on Motegi FF7 16 X 7" rims with 42 offset. I think the tires i have right now are to bulky and wide.

Thinking of 205/45 R16 for my next set of tires would that be the best performance oriented tire for the celica to match the size of my rims.
Been looking for 215/45 R16 tires and i only found falken azenis rt-615 with a treadwear of 200 AA, which isnt great for daily driving and dunlop direzza dz101 with a treadwear of 300 AA.

why is that all companies make 215/40 R16 and 215/50R16 tires but the size 215/45 R16 is such a rare size to find. I just hate that

i found this but i still do not understand it

ok i think i finally got it check this out guys! http://toyotires.com/care-safety/plus-sizing

well i just found out that 205 mm tires are 8.07 inches wide. And i have 7" wide tires. So that would be the best performance oriented tire. And it would still have the lip protected from any curb rash. half an inch on each side of the tire is what is needed, so that the tire wont be flimsly under hard cornering

well the stock 5 spoke wheel is stamped 15x7 on it so i know its a 15x7

205, is stock, i guess a 215 would be ok with a 55 or 50 sidewall

i have 225/45/16s on my other celica with 16x8s and they are too narrow

i was gonna use the 225/50/15s cause i got a good deal on them
