Seems pretty cool,

173hp, 6sp, and looks very advance tec. wise. Seems like even Kia is picking up on to the "sport" scene. Looks very "Civic" but with more styling.

Yea, they definably copied the Civic, but the front end looks a bit meaner and I think they bulked it up more which in IMO looks great.
I just like the fact that Kia is trying to also compete with everyday FF sports car.
This should give Toyota more of a drive to make one, cause I mean common we 're lacking in that department.
The TC isn't slow but it's far from looking aggressive and doesn't really give you that sports feel.
And think about 175hp out of an NA engine for their first sport coupe(think it's their first) isn't bad at all.

well even if the civic has only 3yr/36k mile, you might find the civic more reliable

Just why kia?

the civic is great reliablity rating and is a over all great car. Why your impersonate a car when you have nothing new to bring to the table.

At least make it mid engine or rwd. That would be the only reason i would buy this kia over the civic.

True, I wouldn't turn down a Civic or another Civic look alike without the Honda label backing it up. But I just found it pretty cool that Kia is actually attempting to make a somewhat little tuner. Not original at all but at least their trying.

Look, no offense to anyone but in my opinion. If you are driving a Kia, you might as well drive a saturn too, and get your hair permed, wear spandex with crew necks, watch ballet, American Idol, hang out with friends for "intelligent" conversations at Starbucks, and lastly, watch VH1 religiously. To sum it up, pretty much live the stereotypical life of someone who gets chastised on a daily basis for the rest of their life. If you like them, that's cool. But one thing you won't get no matter what you do in those will be R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Ok, that was a bit over the top and rather mean. But I am just saying.... If you love imports... Just know, that is not an import. So don't try to JDM something that is never and never will be. That's all I'm saying.

Yes, I give Kia Motors B- for trying. They still need a lot to match the quality of japanese imports.

I agree with random stranger, most people look down on them and may not give you respect

I wouldn't drive a kia if you paid me. All they do is copy other car designs. Have you noticed?

whats that? a mercedes? nope

how about this one? look at that sexy impreza wrx

oh wait...this is the actual impreza

Pretty much every kia model is meant to look like some other better car. Just start looking around and you'll start noticing.

Damn I never noticed that. I mean I have on some Kia's but whoa do all meaning every single car look like something else?
Pretty lame and lazy of them but in the other hand pretty smart. Why? Because for those cheap people who want the looks of Jaguars, Subura's and so on can pay less for the looks but make up the total payment of a real version of the car they copied once they start giving problems.

Yes, that's Rio. A riced-out Rio at that. Looks like Subaru got trashed one night and had a fling with Kia, and 9 months later...

I wouldn't be caught dead in a Kia. One of my friends used to have ^^^ that body style Rio, and it would grind every time he shifted to second, and the car only had 75,000 miles on it. It's cute that Kia is attempting something, and I'm sure they'll sell plenty of them. After all, they're what, $15,000?

^ NO. NONONONONONONONONONONO.

Did I mention no?

There are similarities, but that design looks like ASS. Stock rims are sucked in to all hell, the curves on the side are weird, the body itself curves in like a 70's American sedan...the grill on the front is UGLY.

The middle space between the fog light mounting holes, and the mounting holes themselves, do look awfully familiar. But I consider it an insult to my car and the 6GC community to compare the two.

No.

Yeah, it's nice that people who can't afford have options, however.... It's all in Authenticity. Doing right or not doing it at all. Why floss what's fake and nobody is impressed? Isn't that why we floss? We want our work to be appreciated, not destroyed by being mistaken for by fakes and put in that same class. In the Auto world, you get what you pay for. Anyways, I hate the idea they do that. And before you all start on me for the whole GT-Four thing, just keep in mind we don't have them here to buy, so you can get rid of that question. I am building my stuff with authentic parts and plan on for the future as well.

All cars thies days look the same (or getting close to the same look) so its hard to judge one company over the other for it

IDK, i think a 6 spd with 174hp behind it is overkill 5 gears would do just fine, also I do my best to stay away from kia, my girlfriends mom has a spectra and her dad has a rio, neither are base models and man there reliable to a point but CHEAP, very CHEAP materials and just feels cheep and loose IMO.

There are Much better used cars then new kia's (my opinion anyway.)

Actually, that's a second gen. This is the first gen. wink.gif

But I'm in complete agreement.. They are still some of the ugliest cars on the road, and there is absolutely no comparison to the 6gc.

Now Im not one to drive a kia nor would i ever buy one but bang for buck statring price for it is 17,600 and thats with the 6speed 174hp w/ 10y/100,k warranty, 22city/32hwy and the civic SI is 22,000 and thats w/ a 5speed 197hp w/ 3y/36,k warranty, 21city/29hwy

so over all you would be spending $4400 for 23hp, lower warranty and slight less gas milage.
Just my little fyi
