ok, so i am getting back to work on my celica and i already bought new 4afe/7afe manifold with t25 flange.. so now i need an internally waste-gated turbo
my thoughts so far are to go with a Garrett GT2252 so what are your thoughts on it.... i WAS also considering gt2052 but it seemed a bit small and from what i have found a little more expensive... so any thoughts????? any other info you need??? -------------------- If anyone is missing NASCAR and it's not on Speed Channel, take a fistful of Skittles, throw them in the toilet and hit the flush handle. This is to turbo a 7afe correct?
Did you look at the compressor map and figure out if the turbo is sized properly for the car? -------------------- |

too small?
yes this is a 7afe before i had too big, so that turbo would be too small? garrett has it listed that it will work from a 1.7l to a 2.5l and hp rated from 150hp-260hp so wouldnt this work out? well here are the specs for it: turbo specs here gt2252 so any suggestions????? this week i am ordering the oil filter relocation kit and i was planning on ordering the turbo if it sounded like a good idea but i guess i'm waiting, what do you guys suggest oh and sorry, yes i did look at the compressor map but i am barely learning, i am about to go home and look at some more maps and re-check my math -------------------- If anyone is missing NASCAR and it's not on Speed Channel, take a fistful of Skittles, throw them in the toilet and hit the flush handle. Your choice is okay but I would go for 2259 in your case, for more potential
On 3sgte the turbo is the size of a gt28 and there is NO LAG LAG isn't an issue on a 2.0liters w/gt28 So I imagine that the 2259 would be good for your application. It should get at full boost in the 2500rpm range, which is very fast. For about the same lag and more power output, you could buy the more pricey GT2560R, which is ball bearing. GREATTTT!!!!!
i get paid wed. and i should have enough to order turbo if nothing else comes up, i will look into it and thanks for the options. i want something that would spool fast and i read the maps and the 2252 looked close to what i wanted but i knew i was close to the limits of it but i would be extremely happy if i could get 230-250hp and that was where that turbo maxed out at, but bigger and about the same lag sounds good too so i am going to start looking into prices i know its kinda big but what about this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-TURBO-H...=item5ad481f43d This post has been edited by dans_st: Nov 5, 2009 - 5:17 PM -------------------- If anyone is missing NASCAR and it's not on Speed Channel, take a fistful of Skittles, throw them in the toilet and hit the flush handle. do not get a cheap Ebay turbo. although some have had good luck with them, its not worth the crap shoot IMO. another good turbo for your setup is a Garrett T3 super 60. Its the turbo i use in the 7th gen kits. It spools super fast, has a good MAP and its fairly cheap.

What was the final decision? I'm in need of a turbo. I think I killed mine.
