ok I have a GPS which is cool, but I found this online and wondered if it works like it says it does, basicly you down load poi maps that are updated as needed. when your moving around in your car, it 'alerts you' to 'known' speed traps and traffic cameras.

Sounds cool ( I want it), does anyone on here use something like this? I think there are a couple of sites that do this. this is the one I was looking at.

I have a 12 band radar detector that (I dunno how much it costs, it was given to me) seems to work just fine for everything.

If you obey the law, and speed limit you won't have to waste money on this.

I x2 this for one..

And also, ive tried that trapster thing for iphone, it sucks, it tells you where cops may have hidden out ONCE maybe a year ago in that specific location, and it will tell you every time you pass by there. Useless. thumbsdown.gif

Cops are smarter now, they don't turn on there radars till the moment they pass you which makes your radar useless. I would Focus less at the GPS and more on the road.

yup that is true also soulshadow. They are also beginning to use different bands i think? bands that normal entry level detectors arent picking up.

I say, just obey the law. wink.gif If you are doing something unlawful, be prepared to pay the consequences.

Why?its a car forum.....Soulshadow,i think some cops may..but its like 70% radar all the time,30% crafty radaring mix..I think that a radar is good for fog and corners...you shouldnt be speeding in fog,but still its nice to know they are there:)

That's exactly why you need Valentine One. It has front and rear sensors.
Also, that detector has unprecedented range. So you will hear the cop clocking the cars way in front of you.
