So i went to mr lube because i had no way of getting oil on my own to do the change myself... but lets not get into that
so i went there and got my oil change with mobile 1 5w30 (not high mileage) and now my oilpan is leaking like mad... i called and they claimed they never touched the oil pan bolts only the drain plug... there's a mess on my exhaust... a mess on my oil pan... and its dripping all over the road in 4 different places.

prior to this i could go 6,500kms without losing an 1/8th of a liter of oil..

When I was in school, I worked at a place that did oil//lube service. If there was ANY sign of leaks or gasket damage, or oilpan damage, the customer was called to look at the situation BEFORE ANYTHING was touched-- that way, we were cleared of any leaks or gasket//oilpan damage!! It was suprising to see how many said not to do it, then came back with their teens to see the "damage they must have caused last night"!!
Small drips were normal, but the customer still had to ok the job.

Can you check//retighten the pan bolts//nuts??

well the thing is when u tighten them your destroyed the seal... the gasket gets hard and brittle... as long as it isn't TOUCHED it doesn't leak because its still sealing... but of course if they had tightene it then it would leak because it would become deformed. the only thing i can do it tighten the drain plug

Similar thing happened to me at Jiffy Lube. No time to get car oil changed myself (working hard that week) and it was long over due, so I thought I'd caugh up some money for them to do it.

When I went home I saw that I was massively leaking oil all over the road. Turns out they decided to loosely put my filter back on and it fell off some point during the ride.

Money well spent eh wink.gif?

I hope the best for your situation.

Well what kind of oil did you have in your car before? I used to do the 5w-30 synthetic, until I realized that my car did leak about 1/4th qt before my next oil change. Knowing a car burns up about 1/4qt of oil within that span as well, I am losing half a qt in between. Then I was looking at my oil cap and says specifically to use 10w-30, so now I go with 10w-30 synthetic. My issue is that I already have/had a leak or two in a few spots. I am not sure exactly how well a seal everything should be, but maybe it is possible that there are spots to leak and that since oil is thinner when it is cooler vs when it is hot, it is leaking when you have it sit? I dunno. But I think someone must have messed up. I know oil changes are simple, but usually most places have like 2 people who are ASE certified and then the rest of the goofballs working there are anybody.

Before I take my car in for anything, beyond my tools at my house as I don't like to trust anyone else, I record and take photos of everything. My mother raised me to be that way and I always protect myself in any way possible like this, I always expect someone to try and take advantage of me or hide their faults, so I do that.
