Did a search, couldn't find a thing. So I figured I'd ask if anyone has installed these things before. Here are a few pics---->
![]() ![]() ![]() I plan on doing this in a few hours...but if anyone has prior experience that would be great. Thanks. This post has been edited by Spider77: Dec 12, 2009 - 4:01 PM |

I know I know...auto. But the car was free, so I couldn't say no to that! Um, it cost me about 40 shipped (off ebay) from some guy in Canada.

Okie...so it appears there needs to be some slight modifications made in order for these to fit. The brake pedal has to be shaved down a bit (on all 4 sides), but that's not that big of an issue. The gas pedal for some odd reason is made of plastic....I dont know what they were thinking when they did that. Besides the obvious shaving of some plastic, I wanted to get some guesses on how to help these pedals stay put. I was thinking something like epoxy, but wanted to see if anyone else had a better idea.

I would be tempted to take the rubber off the stock pedals and rivet these on. I would love a pair of these if I could find them in manual

Yeah. I had to go out and finally get a dremel because i didnt feel like manually filing down the pedals. Turns out im missing like 5 attachments. Before I break in the rotary tools Im awaiting some kind of response from the company. On the plus side it looks like it'll be pretty easy with the dremel, got that and some rubber-metal bonding agent just to keep the pedals on there. I really like the "billet" look (specially with the laser etched toyota) so plan on keeping them on there. On the side though been looking for a similar dead pedal. But as soon as I get this done (hopefully this weekend) I will post results.

they are usually screws looks like rivets but in the back side there are threads that hold the back side with a piece of metal that grabs/wraps the pedal. At least that is how aftermarket auto pedals ive seen are mounted. In fact i had one set before.

OK, so the weather held out and it was a nice day to get this done.
As you may know I had to make some modifications to the stock pedals to get these to fit properly. By far the brake pedal was the easiest. More room to work with and its metal (not plastic). The cover was made to slide right over the camry pedal with little to no effort. In this case though the sides had to be ground down. That was easy enough with a dremel. ![]() This is with the sides ground down and a little bit of Loctite metal/rubber adhesive. I placed the glue in the two grooves running the length of the pedal and slid it on. ![]() This is the brake pedal cover all clamped down. ![]() This is the backside of the gas pedal cover next to the stock pedal. As you can see there isn't much for it to grab on to, and some cutting had to be done. Dont have any pics of that, but pretty much had the make the pedal thinner and curve the edges. Other than that, the only problem was the rubber tabs didn't slide into place under the pedal, as there are parts of it that get in the way and do not allow for this to happen. What I had to do was at least get the top and bottom corners to slide under. After I got that all set up I slathered the pedal and the back of the cover with the adhesive and slipped it on. After a bit of struggling (the adhesive made it a little slick) I clamped the hell out of it. ![]() So, now that is how its sitting. In a few hours I will go out, take off the clamps and run some more adhesive on the back side and sides of the covers to assure that they stay in place. All in all, the gas pedal was the worst. Im sure the brake pedal will stay put, but untill I allow it to dry and get out there and use it, I cant say if the gas pedal will meet my expectations. |

Ok, so its been close to a week now. Well, the pedals have stayed put. Its a nice look (one of which I need to clean up a bit), but the only downside (going from "smooth" pedals to pedals with nubs) is I cant move my toes once I have the pressure applied. Which Im still getting used to. All in all, it looks 100% better than those blue anodized/cf "look" I had.

Just remember the stock pedals require a bit of modification to get these covers to fit. The gas pedal is the hardest though. Good luck. BTW, ive had these on for awhile now and they are holding up!

As far as the dead pedal, im still looking into finding a cover that comes close to matching the "camry" covers. When i find something I'll post that up. But its going to be a matter of finding it and fitting it, and getting the stupid "plastic screw" that holds the dead pedal all figured out.

Finaly i put my pedals BUT is a big pain in the ass to cut the original one so these can fit ...so i glue it and will wait for 24h before to test it....so will look around for dead pedal in the same style! btw: did you know that this pedals is one of the many that toyota repleace becouse they stuck in the carpet ot somehwere? did you have some problem with your gas pedal becouse is very risky if the pedal stuck when you press it very hard? thanks ![]() p.s. but they look very nice ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

Nah, its just a pedal cover. Not the pedal its self. But in my case I have had no problem with any type of sticking. And yes I will agree that cutting the pedals was a major PITA. They look good! And I am still looking for a dead pedal cover that'll work as well, so if you find it before me, post it up!
