I MIGHT be looking at selling my 6gc. kindasad.gif

Has 283,xxx miles on the stock, never rebuilt 5sfe. Car runs strong. I have always used Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil 10-40 every 7,000 miles for oil changes, burns 1/4qt of oil every 6,000 miles.

Nothing is wrong with the car. New timing belt, oil seals, New cv axles recently, clutch holds strong, tires have plenty of meat, interior is mint, brakes are fairly new, new rotors, redid handbrake hardware recently, new fuel filter, plugs, wires, just put in 25th anniversary seats. Rims have minor curb rash. Car is dropped on Megan springs with 2 finger gap in front, 1.5 finger gap in rear. Gets 30+mpg. It could use a paint job (clearcoat failing in multiple areas, door dings, scratches, scrapes, stone chips on front bumper, etc), but the paint still shines and I get thumbsup.gif and turn heads nearly everytime i drive.

I could never "set" a price on how much im looking for on this, far too much time and money invested, so if you are interested, send me an offer. Just wanting to see what the 6gc community thinks its worth, to help me decide if i should move on to something else or keep it.

rest of stuff from my profile.. vv

samir honestly you're only going to be getting lowballs unless someone loves the look of your car and wants to do a swap... without being there everyday and knowing what kind of issues the car may soon have or have had, 283xxx miles is going to scare away anyone frown.gif sorry

ps, thats a good looking climate control wink.gif

Honestly, i'd get more trading in at the dealership than 1500.

I use 10/40 because i run the car for extended periods of time, sometimes 8-10 hour 500mi+ trips non-stop in one day. 10/30 breaks down too quickly for me, and it burns a wee bit more, about 1/2qt every 6000mi or so.

The car DOES NOT leak a drop of anything. It used to from behind the timing cover, but i had all the seals changed, toyota did it for me, have documentation.

Not gonna part, was just testing to see if it would even be worth it to sell-- and its turning out that it wont be...

Like i said before, no leaks. The oil just holds up better for me. biggrin.gif

Mileage doesn't mean anything if the car runs and drives fine, especially a 5sfe. My b/f and I have owned 4 toyos now with 5sfes that have gone over 220k miles and my mr2 at the moment has around 270k and runs perfect. If I were you I would try selling it locally and see what you could get out of it. I'd say $2500+ since KBB's good condition price with that mileage is around $2500 plus you have alot of time and money into the car. smile.gif
