Feeler: FS: possibility., Altezza 6gc Taillights Options

I don't know about too many of you guys , but i LOVE Altezza Tail lights but unfortunately ive never seen any for our celicas.

so i was at my local custom shop last night and was talking to him about finding out about getting custom altezzas made for my car. from what he was guessing he said it'd be about 230.00 -270.00 dollars for a set of custom tails, i told him about this site and he said they do deals when you order a lot buy. so i figured i'd see if anyone else would be interested in getting the custom tails. if anyones interested i'll try and get some pictures of what they'll look like. i'm figuring if i ordered 10 pairs it would cost about 190.00- 200.00 each.

so just let me know if anyones interested. thanks

Um, gotta see some pics first. And are they for coupe as well? If you need a set of coupe tails to use as a test let me know, i have a set laying around (one already disassembled)

I'll ask about the coupes as well. i didn't know if the coupes were different from hatch tails or not. but yes if there are enough people interested then yes it will be for the coupes also. i'll go find a picture of ones that should look very similar right now, i should have it up in a few minutes.

well like i said i was there last night, and he asked me to bring in my tail lights on thursday so i will be dropping them off around 5 tomorrow night. he's going to send them to wherever it is that makes them so he can get the sure pricing and pictures of what they'll look like.

Yeah, i would love to see a finished concept, or even a drawing. But yes, coupe/vert and hatch tails are different. If you need a test set of coupes, let me know...i have that spare set.

okay sounds great. i'm glad to see some interest already! i think it would be sweet finally having altezzas in our cars. Hopefully i should be able to get somewhat of a finished idea tomorrow night, if not i'm positive we'll have one by Tuesday!

I dropped off the tail lights today and he packaged them up to send them to the company, they said after they get there (3-5 days) they will start designing both the smoked and chrome versions of the tail light and will send him pictures via email.

The members can feel free to correct me if im wrong on this but looking at your pictures you have stock tailights, if they were to model these Altezza lights, they would have to base them of off yours (in my opinion by doing some sort of a mold) which would mean the altezza lights will have the grooves that stock ones have. what im saying is it would make more sense to have a flat tail light like the jdm ones.

also i dont think you can manufacture stuff like this with a snap of your fingers...otherwise these would have been around for a long time...for every car there is.
also i dont think a manufacturer will go through all this trouble to make 10 of them. i mean damn he's talking about designing and putting these in production...idk just sounds a little too good to be true doesnt it?

and finally, if these too good to be true tail lights get made then i just have to say in MY opinion they would look retarded. i think the jdm lights are the perfect lights for our cars, obviously some people will like it, but if i saw a celica with those the first thing that would come to my mind is that some 17 year old who is trying too hard to look cool is driving it.

i just think this guy is trying to scam the 6gc community of 2000 bucks. and sadly if no one questions this, he will probably get away with it.
im normally open to ideas and wouldn't question our members or be rude to them, but im not the only one who got ripped off by him. there was a fs thread that got closed and there were like half a dozen people that didnt get what they paid for or their money back. he just waited til that died down and now i think he's back for more.

i didnt really care to, he promised to give the money back and probably did the same for others so they just kinda been holding their breath and hoping he would return it before leaving anything negative. i got several pm's from other members about how they were ripped off too. i think his fs thread is now deleted but the moderator or whoever locked the thread knows all about it.

well that sucks donkey A$$. i looked at his profile and he has one hell of a beater 6GC. prolly scamming ppl to fix his own ride. too bad you guys cant leave negative feedback anymore. would suck for newer 6GC members like me that dont know about ppl like him. does anyone have the link for that fs thread, the one where he claimed he was going to pick up parts from some junk yard or some guy he knew?

and if anyone doesnt believe me, then here are the messages from him, like a week after i sent my money i asked on the status he said:

"i have all the stuff. i am waiting on usps to get their shipment in. (they were out of the boxes that we needed) they said check back in on tuesday... sorry for the wait."

4 days later

"yes. sent it all out yesterday night "

a week from that day i asked for a tracking number

"sorry. waiting to get my car back from garage. its in the glovebox"

4 days after that i asked for my money back

"i have the parts. i tried transfering the cash from my paypal to my bank acc.
my bank rejected payment. i don't know why but it did.
if you could just be patient i'll have the parts out soon. i have everything you asked for
and its all in a box ready to be shipped. i just have to wait until i get paid, i really
would prefer to not have all these extra parts lying around if i can help it.

No I appreciate the warning. Thanks alot. It's good that you posted in this thread. Otherwise he probably wouldve posted some bogus prototype lights and trick everyone. I wonder if he'll post again on this thread

Problems resolved and Everythings cleared up over my bad. sorry for the inconvenience 6gc.

in about a week we should be finding out some more info on the lights, which i personally can't wait to see what they'll look like.
