Be sure to eat some good pizza dude.

And say hi to Switzerland when you pass over it, and the Netherlands as well.

Blasphemy.

Granted, pizza as America knows it was started by an Italian immigrant IN New York...but the basics came from Italy.

My buddy who went to Italy and specifically set out to find great pizza there said American Pizza is just better, because we have way more focus on it.

He said Italians love to eat all sorts of stuff and don't focus on pizza because they have way better stuff. God, you have no idea how much I want to find out if this is true or not (yummy trip to Italy anyone?) but that is my only source of knowledge on legendary Italian pizza.

I've never really thought of it that way...but to me, all Italian food is good. Now, I've had pizza in New York and it was pretty damn good. But there is nothing like sitting under the Italian sun in a courtyard of some restaurant that's been there for decades enjoying some brick oven pizza.
