what are we really adjusting....which parts....the bottom rings or the top rings...does anyone have pics? of the lowest settings for front and back?

which to adjust?

This bottom part only (the BLACK RING) or the part where my THUMB is touching?





The orange rings.....?




What about the space between my two fingers?






What are the right adjustable height of the bottom black piece and the space with thread from orange rings? the displacements?

The orange rings you adjust so that the spring sits snug up against the top perch.

So push the spring up till it stops, and spin the upper orange ring till it touches the spring, now spin the bottom orange ring up till it meets the upper one. tighten the bottom ring to the top.
This is setting pre-load on the spring.

the bottom black ring, this is what is allowing your ride height to change. You spin the assembly (the threaded part that your fingers aren't touching) into the base piece (your thumb is touching). make sure you have the same amount of threads into the base, as its partner assembly (left and right must be equal). once you've gotten how low you want to go you snug the black ring down to the bottom piece to hold it in place. (finger to thumb)

sounds a bit confusing i know.

i understand what you mean...thanks....this took me almost 3 hours to do just the front because....well i didn't know what i was doing....thanks playr; i just did one and match the other in heights

they are nice...mine are slammed till the sleeve almost hits the cv boot...only prob i have been having are the front locking nuts underneath the spring keep coming loose...my solution was simple....hose clamp below the lower locking nut...

(when you work with the top two ring, you always want them to work against the other one, since you dont want to change the load on the spring)

9- if you want to raise it, take the 'bottom top ring' and 'screw it'

10- thighten the bottom ring and make sure that both front are the same height (and both rear)
11- put your wheels back and if it sit the height you want.......

man...i swear i searched the forum...a GOOD 35 minutes and gave up...i click everything post....thanks for the future reference....what i did was just measure both struts at the same height....(on level floor), balance the pillow mounts so they are on straight....measure the gaps (the open space "thread" part) to make sure all equal with a tape measure. Put it in and start adjusting the two rings holding the spring in tight...my only problem was having the fronts lowered too much....it push ALL THE WAY to .5" funny is that it didn't scrap but the tires were rubbing, adjust it to 1.25" in the fronts and same things for the rear, but with height at 2" approximately. I F*CK up the washers on the top of spring with the two fronts because the springs were to low and it came out of place, but i just simply fixed that by adjusting the springs back up to fix the bent washers as best as i could...hopefully this won't be a problem...

I'll post pictures tomorrow when i get back from work. i spilled most of the oil fluid by accident and manage to only lubricate the two rear...i need some more for the fronts---->> anyone know where i can buy some more, can i just use some grease or it has to be that thin oil fluid?

Only if your camber is out of spec. Judging from your pics, it is not.

Is that 1.1 how much you dropped in inches? No way that's true, I dropped slightly less than you and my Sportline springs are rated at 1.5". However, I never really measured. Either way, congratulations. Looks great.

those pics don't tell much...as you can tell, im really a noob on this subject....i found that these ksport offer adjustable camber kit on the pillow mount...my question should have been how do i adjust them correctly? how do i know good is good from bad?

in reality you need to go to a shop and get an alignment... camber is not the only measurement you need to be concerned about...

thanks...im planning to take it to a shop to get an alignment, but i don't want them to charge me for adjusting the camber so my tires don't butterfly out....and as of now, the tires, bottom portion sticks out more than the top half....figure i do the adjusting on the cambers myself with the 6gc family's help. biggrin.gif or do the shops do it too with the alignment?

No, you need to get a camber kit. Search for the one from Eibach on Tire Rack, I've heard good things about that kit.

they do! all full coilover systems have the top mount. you can also adjust at the knuckle, like a regular mcpherson strut set up. you need to take it to get aligned tho... sai, caster, toe are all factors to look at.

the rears are adjustable for camber... just not as adjustable.... an alignment is a good idea, non the less

yeah...i thought so too...the camber adjusty are on the pillow mounts. but the questions are: how do i adjust them accordingly? is this part for the shop or can i do it myself? if i were to do it, does anyone know the proper way to adjust it...is there something i can use to go on to get corrected adjustments?

most of the time u can eyeball it and take note of the tire wear. i'm so low that my rears still have neg camber even though i have a the eibach camber bolt in the top of the strut. most shops will charge ya around 50-60 bucks or find a buddy who works in a shop to do it for a case of beer. apparently ksport may have came out with a diff setup cuz mine do not have a rear camber plate

Yeh your right. The eibach is only good for up to 1.75degrees both way. And with a camber of like -3 (what i have atm) that camber kit wont get a result of -1 which is what im after.

How can you put on a camber plate on the back? Its pretty impoosible as even if there was a camber plate its impossible to adjust it as the chassis setup willl block adjustability. No?

they are way nice...better then the stock strut and coilover setup thats for sure...no more botom out clunking sound....i ride em on #2-3 and its a perfect ride....threw em on 36 and i damn near went though the roof....these babies were the best thing i have ever purchased...mine are orange what color is yours...i got mine when they first came out

haha these coils are nice. there is camber adjustment in the rear for 4 different setting i believe (not as adjustable as the front). i ground out a bit of the car to make more positive camber. you can also grind out the hole where the knuckle and strut meet (2 19mm bolts).

i believe all ksports are orange. i like the purple d2 coils because of the color. i don't like the ksport orange and the deep jewel green together lol.

with these install for those who do have it...what is the angle all ya'll have for the fronts and rear...the furthest i got mines for the fronts were only -2 i think without the camber bolts for fronts, but just with the ksport adj camber plate.
