Hi everyone,

I hope someone can diagnose the problem with my car. Several months ago, my front axel shaft broke--for reasons I am still unsure of--and so I had it replaced. Then, just a day ago, the new one broke again! This happened while I was turning a little (just a little) sharply around a corner.

I am very unsure as to why this would happen again, especially to a new one. I'm thinking that I must have not solved a deeper problem--perhaps its worn out ball bearing in the knuckle? Perhaps its the knuckle itself? ...my brakes were also a little soft lately, because I changed the braking pads a few days ago and I don't think I bled the lines properly.

Either way, Im unsure why a brand new axel shaft would break again, under only very slight sharp turning.

Any suggestino?

Thanks all!

It's at the end of the axle shaft that broke. The part that is visible from the outside, if you were to take that cap off the center of the rims you would see that the outer part of the shaft is missing a rod that is suppose to protrude beyond the alloy rims. I'll try to take pics asap. Any help is much appreciated.

Hey guys,

It turns out that I had a bad wheel bearing in the knuckle. I tried pulling on the hub, and part of the bearing came off! I saw the little bearings in the encasing.

So I got a used knuckle with bearings, replaced the axel shaft again and everything is running smoothly.

Thanks for all the help.
