hopefully this hasn't been covered before didn't spend much time looking as to whether this topic has been talked about any how....
TO all of you members who have 96+ Front Bumper with SS-III front splitters and their car recently painted. Do any of you guys have a 3M Clear Bra. I've had my whole car painted for almost 3 years now and I can only see rock chips on this part of my car... ![]() When I repaint my car and put a 96+ bumper with ss-III front splitters should I put 3M Clear Bra Film on this part of the car or will I be wasting money? I mean I do live in southern California and about 90% of the roads are smooth. I should only see paint chips to the front of my bumper if I'm, A. tailgating another vehicle or motorcycle, or B. following behind an 18 wheeler or those trucks that carry dirt and rocks.... ![]() This post has been edited by BonzaiCelica: Sep 10, 2010 - 3:25 AM -------------------- Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle parts

I just asked a dealer here in Southern Cali how much they would charge to do the whole front bumper of a 96+ front bumper. He said it would have to be custom work and he said $575. WOW that's so much. I'm guessing the best price I could get would be $500 but that's still alot.

I would say its a waste of money and will most likely come off after a few washes..Thats just me tho, idk much about that crap..
Does the 575/500 include paint, labor AND parts? Cause thats one hell of a deal if it does. How the f*ck is it "custom" work? This post has been edited by SupraKid: Sep 15, 2010 - 10:25 PM |

Cause thats one hell of a deal if it does. How the f*ck is it "custom" work? It would have to be custom because they would have to draw up a template to make the ClearBra before actually applying it on the car. Since ClearBra isn't used on our Celica's too often, they would have to custom make a template since the ClearBra factory doesn't already make one for our cars. They mostly use CLearBra on newer cars. It's basically like a clear vinyl that they wrap around the front of cars so it protects the car from any paint chips, bug damage, or any other minor things on the road that would cause damage to the paint. It helps A LOT! But it is expensive. $500 is a little steep, but you get what you pay for. If you ClearBra you wouldn't have to worry about any thing damaging your paint. Hope I helped! -Ryan |

ya man thanks ryan, finally someone responded. yea $500 is alot. well see the thing is when I get my car repainted I can just have them put an extra clear coat on the front so it will absorb some of the rock chips. even then I went on a road trip to sacrament a 6 hour drive and after a few washes all the bugs came off the front bumper. I just need to watch out not to follow behind trucks that carry dirt or stay behind 18 wheelers on the freeway and I should be fine. thanks again....
