Hey guys, my name is Roy. Im a new member to the celica forums. Im a current member of MY350Z.com and have excellent itrader feedback as well as on ebay. i have the same username on the other forum.

anyways what im going to start doing is customizing/modifying 6G celica hi/low beam headlights. Ive been doing this type of work to all sorts of vehicles from , acura, honda, nissan, toyota, mitsubishi, lexus, dodge, infiniti and other vehicles. ive been doing headlight blackout, led strip installations, halo installations. etc.

Im starting this thread because i want to show the progress im going to be having with starting a special project on my wifes 6G celica. Im going to install a 15 LED white strip into the hi-beams and connect to turn signal and also install a 194 size whie led bulb to use a daytime running light. this is going to be a project with lots of work. i will post be posting pics of how they are now and any progress on the way....the work will begin this weekend 9/18/10.....

Not bad! Wish I could see the lights in the 350Z. I'm guessing you did some light sanding and buffing to the SC3's light covers?

looks like a cool project.
however, i had to remove the pics that are not 6gc related from your profile.
please host those on photobucket or whatever, and keep the profile pics 6gc related, please.

Yeah, it would look alot better with some clear lenses! The OEM type just break it up to much.....I cant remember who, but someone here used to make clear lenses....All in all, the lows with this, projector and clear would look great!

THESE ARE MY NEXT PROJECTS..:

*have 4 low-beams*

**buying some clear front turn signals and customize them to have about 15-30 LED's in them**

oh damn. yea that would get in the way. why not go an easier route like buying some yellow transparent vinyl and cutting it to size of hi-beam and sticking it to it? its alot easier and you dnt have to remove bumper for that one.

What do you mean by 4 low beams? As in running all 4 lights with low beam bulbs, or replacing the highs with lows?

im thinking as running all of them as low and high beams...basically installing a bi-xenon kit for my lows and highs....

so what im looking for is to have 4 running lights and 4 high beams...lol

kinda stupid but i wanna try it

True.. but the highs aren't a flat surface, I'll get folds in the vinyl

not really.... if you take your time and use a heat gun or hair dryer it will NOT fold...cuz thats how i did mine...i got the exact measurements of my highs and then placed the vinyl over them and with a heat gun....or small torch (you can find these at any walmart store) and heat to vinyl so it takes shape of hi-beam. after a few seconds peel the vinyl from white pad the apply on hi-beam and slowly spread with a squeegee or credit card...lol then you should be good to go...

i would love the 4 headlights with projectors with bi-xenon...only option i would suggest is to make the high beam switch (if you turn on) work with initiating the turn on of the bi-xenon to switch to hig beam on all 4 headights if high beam turns off...all 4 headlight go back to low beam. of course it would require an adapter with male and female caps along with wires extended to make install clean and an EASY WAY to revert back to oem if i want oem lights backon the celi SIMPLY by disonnecting the adapter/wires off the oem light plugs of the head lights low and highs...

Roy;

My name is Jeremy - welcome to the Forums!

I've also created a custom set of headlights, (WITH the clear lenses)... they're a work in progress as is everything else with my car. LOL.

I'm wondering if you have any DAYTIME pics of where you mounted the LED strip in the HIGH beams? The reflections are very decieving... tongue.gif

Here are mine; the car is completely dissasembled now so I won't have pics of them working for awhile but you can see I put in a LED HALO around the projector wink.gif

Here's how they looked when I got them, but the houseing was falling apart and the projectors were loose inside the headlight, so I re-worked everything from scratch and then sealed them up good. smile.gif

I'm looking forward to seeing your final product.

Aaaand I might be going a different route with my high beams... so they might be up for sale soon if I make up my mind. tongue.gif

Yeah I don't think a projector would work behind the OEM glass very well at all... frown.gif
It would break up the beam pattern way too much to be useable.

sweet haha thatd be freakin awesome. projector headlights are toooo expensive. but the look is great. i wish they made more aftermarket headlights for the 6gc with a lower cost. im getting bored of the cheap look. i want something thatll catch it up with the times and make it look more modern. hah

E39 M5 Projectors.

If you decide to make custom headlights, you should really devote some time into making a custom bezel for the projector... I really wish i made them now. lol.

To be honest your main obstacle is having clear front lenses.

In my opinion, the clear lenses are NOT the biggest obstacle. There are members here who can have molds made and get those made. The biggest problem with any projector retrofit is the shroud. That's why Dustin's custom projectors look the best. He had a good shroud.
