if they're flickering on and off, your HIDs could be on their way out.
if they're just dimming and getting brighter on and off, then your alternator is probably on its way out

i dont think could be the hids cause both do the same at the same time.. sometimes they just turn off and i have to turn off my switch and then turn it on again... sometimes they just go off and then on again... im guessing altelnator??

oh! and sometime my battery light turn on and then go off.. when that happens the hids start going bad. but like i said i bought the battery about 3 month ago...

it's probably your alternator
it's highly unlikely that the ballast could be messed up, right?

I had only one side of my lighting do this, where i would be driving and it would go off and on quickly as if you blinked. i have 8k HIDs. Turned out to be a bad bulb, i found some new ones on amazon and ive been good from there on out. Luckly i was able to determine bulb from ballast because it was only one side. Both sides would be tough. However i did notice that the bad bulb had a cloudy look inside where the little "bubble" is, new bulb is clear. Hope this helps.

big three upgrade?

toyota decided to give us small gauge wires for our electrical components just enough for the necessities. when you upgrade audio, HID, etc. you should increase the size of the 3 grounding wires. I did it when i installed subwoofers and problem went away.

it's time to change your bulbs. i had this happen on my celica with the jdm headlights and ended up changing the driver's side bulb. also had this happen on my is300 where it kept flickering, changed the bulbs and works great now.
