turbos use exhaust pressure to spool and create the forced induction, that uses power from the alternator, its a decent theory but would never work properly...

Like I have said before, if you could find some way to run a capacitor, (like a lightening cap sorta) to it, you could use it like nitrous. Typical push button boost. If it would add enough to be practical that is. Think about that. No alternator drain, how much air could t push.

ok if it were that cheap and easy, everyone would have one smile.gif go for it if you will, but IMO that's a complete ripoff.

yeah....a real turbo has to spin at around 150,000RPM. There's no way an electric turbo can spin that much. In fact, it might just be another blockage in the airflow, thus reducing power.

On second thought, I think I have seen one electric-turbo design that works. But it has to be connected to AC plug all the time biggrin.gif

It's not a strictly speaking Turbo - it's an air induction system.
It's basically an electrical fan that sucks air in through the air filter and forces it down the intake pipe.

Some of these "so called" Turbo systems (white housing) that are seen on eBay are infact bilge pumps.
These are not up to the task, there platsic and if they break you're fu**ed.
I would NEVER buy anything like this off eBay.

Having said that...
If you are looking for a reliable and reputable air induction system,
I believe there are 2 types on the market - damn if I can remeber there names of the top of my head.
Anyway, they use a vortex principal (spiralling air).

Are you talking about that 'turbonator' thing? I was thinking of trying to make my own.

That would be tempting if it didn't cost a fortune. I could get TRD springs for that!
