2 more things..., Hood Latch and Fuel Door Cable Options

Alright I've got 2 things...
I can open my hood but I can't seem to be able to close it, I tried letting it fall down from higher and I tried pushing it down...nothing to do. I disassembled everything and the lock and latch seems good, the problem is the cable that won't go back into it's tube. I looked on the illustrations and I think the USDM and JDM cables are the same because I think the release is located at the same position but mirrored, and the hatch is also mirrored...How do I change the cable? Or how can I fix the other one?

Another thing, I opened the gas door using the latch inside the car and the cable snapped...I don't know if it's broken, but it's stuck somewhere in the car, how can I reach it? and if I need to buy another one, where can I find such a thing? Now to fill my gas tank I just open the trunk and remove the panel and open it manualy...but I really want my latch back!

the cas door cable runs along the side of the car under the door trim and behind the passenger plastics. you can remove them and replace the cable
