Wheel Bolt pattern change, from 5x100 to 5x114.3 or 3.9 to 4.5 Options

Hi All
after checking available wheel choices for my st204, i decided it was time to change stud pattern from 5x100 to the more common 5x114.3 now i can run so many more choices of wheels.
this is an easy conversion for anyone wanting to upgrade.

the rear hubs and discs have enough meat on them to simply redrill. i used a cnc mill to redrill mine. i needed to weld up one of the access holes to provide enough strenth for 1 stud hole. another option is if you have a dividing head on your lathe, or access to one. or if you have the measuring and drilling techniques to a fine art, you could measure and do it at home.

converting the front was even easier. remove hubs, and purchase a pair of sxa11 rav4 hubs. cv shaft spline and bearing diamaters are exactly the same. press rav4 hubs straight into celica hub carriers with new wheel bearings.
next purchase yourself a pair of xv10 camry front disc rotors (celica rotors wont fit due to the increased hub diameter) put disc rotors straight on, and bolt your original calliper in place.

the whole conversion cost me:
Cnc machine work for rear hubs - bottle of bourbon at $38 (knew someone with cnc mill)
rav4 front hubs - $240 (either $120 ea from toyota, or ~$100 from wreckers)
xv10 camry front rotors new - $70 pair
wheel bearing kit - $100 for both

This is a great first post! Very useful information to have. I'm surprised there aren't more 5x114.3 conversions. I assumed it was more difficult than this.

Great looking work there man...ive been seeing this on another forum that i TROLL on, but i was wondering...could supra rotors be used with this? And for the GT4 owners can this be done while retaining the stock calipers?

I suppose this is the safest and best way of doing it but I've seen people use adapters to change from one bolt pattern to another.

i assume that the gt4 owners could also do this. i have not measured this all up on one. if someone in the Toowoomba, australia region wants me to check it out for them, shoot me through a pm and ill come look at it for ya.

FYI Camry rear bearing hub assemblies are the same pattern as the Celicas. I verfied this while I was at work, same bolt hole location, size, and rear bore.

So that being said If you buy an assembled rear hub bearing set all you have to do is redrill your rotors. I will be sourcing out these parts for my own vehicle, but like everything else in Hawaii the parts are expensive. I will also be pulling rotors to see what's the best 5x114 rear rotor

the bearing is used from 88-00 camrys, but i searched up a 98

according to this data, you'd have to find the rear from a 92+ camery which is when the camery went from 5x100 to 5x114.3
But then what are you going to use as a rear rotor, to ensure it all fits

Can you specify, where the bearings came from, are they celicas or camry.

the xv10 camry is between 1991 and 1996. as we call it here in australia the 'wide body camry' or the 3rd generation camry.
the disc rotors from this model camry fronts slipped straight onto the rav 4 hubs (centre bore same diameter and bolt pattern 5 x 114.3) the overall diameter was the same, and the offset was same. i was then able to bolt my original callipers straight back on.

the only thing now that requires drilling is the rear rotors.

rav4 front hub, xv10 camry front rotors

vcv10 camry rear bearing/hub assy, drilled celica rotor (unless someone finds one that fits...)

ive been dying to get wide 5 wheels, and wished everything was bolt on. but sometimes we never win, will start looking into this.

for the fronts, anything changes in brake pads or caliper?

same hub spline probably but definitely different bearings. so you cant just press out the mr2 spindles and press into ours, Fact cuz it's cheaper for me to source out mr2 parts from work

almost identical to our stocks, just the center bore and bolt pattern is different iirc

if its for wheel bolt pattern change just to have a better selection in wheels, its really unnecessary with all the subie wheels in 5x100 having almost everything in wheels of different sizes even aggresive. not sure why you would want to change the hub which changes the brake system parts unless its for the brake upgrades or if these parts were free or lying around or cheap or very curious. maybe i'm not seeing the effort.

yea it is quite a bit of hassle. Subie wheeels have such large offsets 45+ offset and higher. Which means you'd have to buy at least a 15mm spacer on top of the rims you purchase.

go to their sites they sell anything 9.5, 9, 10 wide wheels some with offset sometimes in 20s or 30s. its really insane their wheel market is driven by group buys that do custom specs so buying it used is the way to go.

1. RAV4 front hubs from a 99 RAV4
2. new front celica 94+ bearings
3. new camry 92+ rotors
4. rear hubs drilled and new studs pressed in
5. rear rotors drilled

and that's it?

I'm working on a bolt on rear brake rotor that works, the 92-06 Camry rear rotor is the same dimentions and is slightly thicker so it would bolt on like the Camry rear hub does.

The one part I'm unsure of is if the rav4 front hub is the same spline and diameter as my 5gc's front axles.
The all Trac guys have no problems with the rav4 front hub but none of them have info on fwd 5th gens and so forth.

92-06 Camry rear hubs bolt on, no machine work, nothing. Could source em from the junkyard for cheap.
