Well i think it's about time i sat down and made a progression thread since ive had my car for about 3 and a half years bought it January 08. (please bare with me i don't have great memory and won't remember the details and the time of mods might be a lil out of place but here goes)
this is what i drove around before a great car roomy, reliable, strong engine, great family car a cressida. ![]() ![]() ![]() but i was 19 young naive and still under the influence of the fast and furious movies (unfortunately) and didn't want a family car i wanted a sports car. so i wanted a 90-93 celica with the pop up lights a 5th gen loved those car and wanted a stick shift car to learn and use as a DD for work and college. So i looked and i looked and i looked but while looking i stumbled upon a 94 celica GT stick shift lot of miles but good price and i knew the motor could give me like double what it had for just under 2K a couple on dings here and there high beam broken driver side fender dented but strong engine nice color i liked the tan interior even though the seats were torn up. so i picked it up. here the pics from the dealer ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Got it and within a couple days sold the cressida(which i do miss great car) first thing had to get a shift knob lol didn't have one and a $20 purchase at autozone took care of that but those $20 were the first of many purchases throughout these 3 1/2 years the very first "MOD" well i buckled down and learned how to drive stick shift in this car got the hand of it after some days of practice with my pops didn't "master it" till like a year latter. the first things i did were get seat covers and steering wheel cover and full tune up plugs wires oil ect. ![]() ![]() crappy but matched and got the job done and a decal for the trunk window one on each side ![]() after the year I started doing small mods and found this website which helped me tremendously in combination with eBay so i could afford to do mod's on my car i started. First Reverse indigo gauges got these for 30 bucks from a company called auto concepts on eBay by far the nicest looking gauges i saw at the time for price range all white at the day time completely dark at night except the numbers ![]() still have em on still look great only i scratched them rear the center and barley noticeable bug kinda bugs me I HAVE NEVER seen another set to buy tried but all the other ones don't appeal to me as much so stuck with these and replaced the bulb with crappy led's at this point (did a full LED with high quality ones a lil down the line) and got a chrome bezel for it. ![]() bought a LED under body kit, big mistake looked real nice and flashy never really used them i installed them poorly so one fell off at some point should have just saved the money but you live and learn. got a nice key from ebay ![]() got some nice celica dragon decals for each rear quarter panel window ![]() got clear side markers and momo pedals loved the pedals but wore them out very quickly. ![]() Completely washed clean scrubbed the engine and painted some components. replaced some lines with blue silicone tubing ect got some nice compliments (gonna try and restore it haven't kept it as clean and nice) Also got a Injen SRI from eBay for about 100 bucks which was great added a great song to the engine ![]() ![]() ![]() at this point replaced my old crappy rubber carpets with vincedoggy's celica carpets and also did the shifter, ebrake, and arm rest covers. got some 8500K 80watt Xenom "HID" bulbs for the front and to this day some thing i regret putting blue Vinyl sticker stuff all over what i now realize was a great black interior trimming ![]() ![]() ![]() Change the stock rear lights to the 100000X better kouki JDM tails My radiator at this point was busted and leaking so i decided to go with this (wanted koyo but was out of my price range) ![]() ![]() so far has still held up well got my hands on some euro fogs which i wired and loved the look they added and the light at night time Got a FULL body paint job took out all the ding and dents and got it nice and smooth Blue Spectra Mica (love the color) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() custom modded the interior clock to look blue with photography filters. ![]() got tired(lol PUN) of my stock steelies and painted them graphite and painted calipers blue ![]() ![]() upgraded all my speakers and the head unit a jvc mobile kw-avx810 headunit and 8inch menphis speakers 6.5inch,4inch,1inch kicker speakers and change to the 7th gen antenna base and a stubby antena and got mirror cover from vincent doggy also did a lil brake light mod how to is floating around some where out there ![]() ![]() i had a alarm system that was installed but its was unplugged (maybe dealer didn't have alarm remote) hooked it up and have remote made works fine nothing special but nice to have some sort of alarm okay this is were everything hits the Fan after all this withing a month of painting and fixing a rainy evening i got on a ramp to get on the high way and hydro planed right into the ramp divider this completly put me out of sync with my car stopped moding it and investing money in it so for about 2 yrs i just drove it and that's it. ![]() ![]() ![]() recently i kinda fell in love with it again and picked up where i kinda left off i bought the vince doggy door card inserts and custom door sills, got the clear courtesy lights and put blue led in them, Bought some recaro evo IX seats and installed the with corbeau brackets ![]() ![]() ![]() DID the whole GT4 Front end conversion(during a hurricane lol) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() got projector high beams ![]() ![]() ![]() upgraded my battery terminals ![]() got a whole body kick front and rear splitters and side skirts ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() WRC Rain guard and celica custom pedals ![]() ![]() IF this is long just read it over the course of 3 yrs that's how long it took me to get here lol as far as future plans i got a whole list and ill post it tomorrow or thrursday and there probably a bunch of stuff i missed but this was way too big of a update to begin with and i didn't want a lot of lil post so sorry all. ------------------------Car Plans (future)----------------------- Exterior OEM the stuff that are Replica (hard to get and expensive so little by little) Paint - First priority Tint - Light blue get done at the same time as paint Lower - in suspension list Small stubby antenna that actually picks up stations and not just looks good Interior Seats replace rear with 7th gen black or grey leather Reupholster headliner (waiting on fabric to come in) Get Door card inserts professionally redone TRD Shortshifter (its hard to find one) Handling/Suspension (this is what im going to be working on) Front and rear sway bars and links (probably SP's) Underbody brace (maybe not) Good Front strut bar Coilovers - tein if can get at good price if not megan (in the mean time got a set of eibachi sportline and kyb shocks) want to do the ST205 Big double piston brake conversion at some point Performance/Power At some point (not soon) a 3SGTE swap want 3rd gen or higher a Transmition with LSD Forged pistons for the 3sgte (je or hks or wisco) 3'' exhaust for the 3sgte and a good muffler This post has been edited by spy00005: Oct 26, 2011 - I'd suggest doing the jdm sidemarkers mod to your current fenders. It will complete the look 100%

I agree with Bonzai. Do the JDM sidemarkers then get that thing painted. That's a great color and it's going to look fantastic when it's done. Definitely go 7th gen wheels in white. Or even something similar to the factory SS-III or GT4 rims would look great.

there no advance auto any where around where i live i just checked but ive heard good things about hawk HPS so i think im going with those. first step is ordering the sway bars and end links, then slotted rotors brakes and ss lines, then paint and tire the tc rims and lower it and to top it off an alignment. so waiting till i get it painted because i wanted to do that before it gets too cold.

i like the tan/beige color i don't know why everyone hates it so much and its close enough that i don't have to redo the visors just clean them up and the sun roof cover as well. might change the carpet to black but redo the doorcard inserts with this and sew in the celica dragon from the door cards i bought from vince doggy.

It's really at the discretion of whoever is behind the counter, some places do it routinely and it probably works out for them with repeat sales. Thing is, you cant run a business like that and it just ends up making people think they have free brakes for life. I'm just pointing out that this isn't an official thing and that you aren't entitled to free pads. But if you find a place that switches them out then more power to ya.

We try to get our commercial customers to do it because in the end it benefits them, and we get credit for the parts when they bring them back. You're right though... Idk if any other places outside of Rochester actually do it. We only warranty our Wagners for lifetime though. The Wearever Gold's are a one time replacement, and the basic Wearever Silvers have no wear warranty. The idea is, you can upgrade to the better pads and we'll keep you coming back. Customer service is our #1 goal haha. -------------------- 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S 5S-FE 190k Miles. Project car 1992 Toyota Celica GT 5S-FE 170k Miles. i did this at autozone before and the more expensive ones they replace for wear, but i hate the autozone 2 blocks from me because no one in there knows sh!t about cars and its a headache, i doubt they care about customer service at all. the lady manager is the WORST person you could ever deal with, but o well.

The broken plastic tube is the PCV Valve; you can pick another up at any parts store for about 8 dollars with the rubber grommet it sits in.
Also, the TC rims are looking good; you sticking with white for the final color or something else? I got a set of General Altimax HPs in 215/45/17 trim for about 400 bucks and they're pretty nice tires for a higher performance all-season with good tread life. -------------------- Has no more Celicas

cool thanks ill do that still gonna get a \"spare\" valve cover this one had to kinda rush at the end didn\'t get enough coats of blue and also had some old paint so its looking sloppy if you look closely (not like anyone will) but i tried to get that out and it just wont how would i remove that?
yea sticking with white i think blue car white rims would sit pretty nice i played around with photoshop a bit and got this (actually i did one with tires but its on my home computer not work computer ill replace it so excuse the no tires) ![]() Y U NO HAVE TIRES? ![]() hmm i wonder how they\'ll fit if i install the lowering springs and spacers def consider getting those tires like i said im buy 4 new winter tires for my stock rims before the winter starts and then 4 summer tire for the TC rims and thats not a bad price only thing your kinda far, NC is like a 8 hr drive my parents drove down there last year to visit some friends and spend a week. White definitely looks good against blue; the contrast is really nice.
As far as the tires go, I apologize for being unclear in my last post but I meant I bought my tires for about 400 dollars; $392 shipped from discounttires.com. You could check there for your summer tires. Either way, the car is coming along nicely and you're doing great. ![]() -------------------- Has no more Celicas

also it seams that that rear pass side tire was causing a bad shake in my car i had thought it was the spoiler so i drove around without it a couple of days still rumbled so i put it back on today but yesterday because of the flat i switched tires and i noticed it didn't rumble or shake and then on my way back home a really tested it and nothing guess the flat was a good thing cuz it happened while it was already parked not me on the move. playing some more w/ photoshop now has tires im getting used to PS a lil bit ![]() might aswell throw some spoilerless pics i took on here ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by spy00005: Oct 26, 2011 - 7:49 PM -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

yea im hoping the spacers give it a little bit flusher look and everything still looks and feels good and has enough clearance all everything when i get the tires ill see how the spacers work out and look they guy i bought it off (trd-corolla) did have his car lowered (i believe) and it looked good on his in the FS thread and he said it drove well never had a problem.
also i never updated i switched out my kick plates and installed these. did this back in like January ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

so this is as it stands gonna go wash her right now but i def like the look maybe a lil too low but i like non the less. think im gonna have to take off the spacers haven't confirmed since i just installed a lil bit ago but i fear the back passenger side might rub i mean i look like it has enough clearance but any lil hole or elevation change might beg to differ. also spacers might just be too much for my taste i love the flush look but id rather be able to drive faster with more peace of mind. (got a lil trigger happy w/ the camera lol)
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() also got the new rain visors to replace he ones i broke and hopefully will get the rear strut brace sometime next week -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

thanks tiga i really like how the white contrast the blue and kinda sets each other apart and i gotta say the color set up worked beautifully on your car (have had my eye on it for a while) sadly the back passenger side rubs very slightly if i hit any pothole or bumps to quick gonna see if i can bend of push the inside lip up cuz i like how it looks with the spacers other wise i gotta take em off and get maybe smaller ones as i don't wanna mess with my suspension. also bad news the front driver side tire seems to be leaking air from some where don't see anything stuck in it but gonna fill it up and take it to a tire shop to get it looked at crossing my fingers (there new so under warranty but don't wanna install my stock ones again after i just switched them.
thank JohanFer yea its been a slow build but im at the point where i am really happy with the look and feel (maybe a tab too low for my comfort) just now desperately needs that paint job to tie it all together and i back into a low metal trash receptacle around my job to low to see on rear view but high enough to hit the light it has prongs so garbage truck can just lift em. learned my lesson always make sure get out and check there noting behind you car when your backing up. -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

learned my lesson always make sure get out and check there noting behind you car when your backing up. I learned that lesson when I backed into someone coming up my driveway at the same time in my Camry lol. What rotors are those and what's the cost of them? I'm trying to decide on a local drilled and slotted rotor of if just slotted is fine. Being that it's my daily, Slots are probably the way to go, as where drilled will just fill with rust. Also, pick up a set of these ASAP: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-2008-Toyota-A...r#ht_586wt_1166 Your wheels, they be missing 'em. way ahead of you bro ordered them like 2 weeks ago there coming from outside us though the caps should be here end of this week beginning of next week. that's actually not a bad price though.
i ordered the rotors from thmotorsports.com there the EBC slotted EBC USR they were slightly cheaper at another website but with the shipping at thm being free which is one reason i go to that site, it came out over all cheaper (shipping was like extra 20 buck on most sites for just the 2). and from the guys i have talked to slotted for a DD has more advantages than drilled. i heard with drilled the rotor is some what weaker though there is more air flow so it stays cooler and with slotted it keeps dirt debris and air flow with out losing rotor strength and keeps break pad an even wear. but don't qoute me on anything i am far from an expert in rotors and brakes but that what i understand from the research i've done and talking to people but i've heard drill and slotted are a no no. pick one or the other unless its for looks. so after two morning of basically waking up to a flat front driver side wheel i went to get it looked at turned out the valve was a lil lose so a little bit of air was leaking so was a quick fix. lucky it wasn't the actual tires since there new and thank got it wasn't the rim that would have been horrible. gotta fix the rubbing issue when i hit bumps and what not its very minor but i want absolutely no rubbing.

Sick dude! One thing I'd recommend is to get some dirt repellent from Advance Auto Parts or Autozone. You've got white rims.... they're going to be a pain in the ass to keep clean in upstate NY. Also, a good clear coat, like Duplicolor, will help protect too.

well clear coat is a no no i want flat white and i tried applying clear coat and essentially it makes it semi-gloss to glossy depending on layers but thanks ill look into dirt repellent cuz i now realize how much of a B!+&^ it is to clean and keep clean white rims.

so i did some thing kinda simple today switched out my worn out momo pedals with these
![]() also just got 4 cans of matte white plastidip gonna throw some on the rims for some more coats/protection and hopefully make the rims easier to clean. also thought about plastidipping white the front and rear splitters and sideskirts white (after i get the whole car painted) but kinda just throwing around that thought maybe ill photoshop it to see if it'll look any good or not. never mind the dipping the skirts and splitters would just make it look like an unpainted bodykit which i don't think would look good even though it would match the rims. so i finally got my custom shifter i ordered like a month ago
![]() tried both of them out ![]() ![]() stayed with this one for now though ![]() ![]() its the toyota katakana and it matches my color scheme also the shifter knob has a a better feel to it at least to me and i just like it. also in general the katakana is ALWAYS either white/red/ or black. so i contacted some people that make shift knobs and got it made in blue/white so i believe i am the first and only person with it as such. ![]() This post has been edited by spy00005: Jun 5, 2012 - 8:39 PM -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

Where did you get your pedals? I've been looking for a set like that and only have found places to cut them for me, and that's it.

yea i believe they were they were a group buy years ago before i even joined the site and a member was selling his set like last year and selling his WRC rain deflector and i just bought them both (i believe it was batman722) so i doubt you can get one unless someone sells there set or you get it custom made.
*looked through my old feedback i def bought them off batman722 this was last year like in sept i just never get around to doing stuff also on my car progress over the weekend i finally fixed my check engine light that been bothering me for a long time, switch the distributor (seems like connector g1 and g2 had no resistance) and no more check engine long shot but hoping it also helps out my bad mpg. and ![]() This post has been edited by spy00005: Jun 11, 2012 - 10:46 AM -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*
