Alright, I have no idea as to how to remove the trim for the passenger side air vent on the dash below the air bag. (you know, the difficult one to remove) I'd like to get it out to paint the trim, but it's a bitch and I don't wanna have to break it. Any suggestions or am I gonna have to break it?

just be a little patient with it.. the only bit that will break off is 2 small tabs on the underside. It's just a s much of a biatch to get back in..
Use a couple of screwdrivers (wit padding protecting the vinyl of the dash) to pop it out. Keep an eye on the surrounding vinyl as it will bulge slightly as you remove the vent.
It may be easier if you get to it through the glovebox somehow ??

Just to rub it in - I've done both my Celi's interiors and had the parts out quickly.. you pay my fuel and I'll come over and help ya !

For some reason everyone has trouble with this one. Mine was fairly easy to get out. You just need a small flat screwdriver to stick in there. If you can figure out where the clips are and get the screwdriver in under them it should just pop right out. That one was harder to get out on my car than the rest were, but I just thought it was b/c it was the 1st one i did. You'll figure it out. Just take your time.

I worked at it for about half an hour before I threw in the towel. That thing puts me into peril. I look at it, and all I see is an enigma. It will not come out. Anyone that says it does is lying and is going to laugh at you when you break it. You could take apart your ENTIRE car, dash and everything, and you cannot take that piece off without breaking it. Take apart your entire dash, unscrew the piece from the air duct, unclip it, etc.. and it still won't come off without breaking.

Truth--I pulled at it for a long time. After about 30 minutes I hear something break, it becomes a little more loose, and a metal clip falls to my carpet. I freak out, push the piece back into place, and put the metal clip away. I'm not going to pull at it anymore because I don't want to break the piece totally out and have it professionally re-installed for costs out the wazoo.

The typical thing to break is the bottom clip on the vent. It makes it a tad looser, but still holds in place just fine.

The first time I took it out I was so worried about it because of all the negative things I've heard about it. But after taking mine out, I was able to help a friend with his(aka, do it for him) without breaking it. But even with the broken clip on mine I haven't had any problems with it. You have to take the glove box and the surrounding pieces out though or it will be next to impossible to make the vent line up to the tube(the one carrying the air) properly. The first time I did it the vent wouldn't blow any air. Not to mention that taking the pieces out lets you see exactly what's holding it in place(which doesn't make it too much easier, but it does help).
