if your running an e153 transmission on your v6 motor you'll need a spacer in your axles. and the axle hybrid setup.

if your using s54 all you need are oem axles and your done...

I know that much
But reading through so much i thought i needed a spacer to mount the bearing carrier to so i could mount it to the block
Maybe i just need an adapter plate

thats correct but not what hes looking for.

you need to design a bearing carrier that bolts to the 1MZ and fits the stock axles. ill design one when i get to that point. it looks like you are ahead of me

Idk if im ahead or not lol
But im thinking ahead
If everything goes as i hope tomorrow ill be dropping the motor an trans in temp to make the mounts. An maybe snap a few pics

Have you read anything on how the mount needs to be made.
Anything about thickness the mount needs to be?

FWD will have to have that bracket. I'm curious if the 1MZ will sit further away from the firewall or closer to it than the 5S. If it sits farther away, I wonder if you could recycle the 5S bracket with longer bolts and washers between the bracket and the block to act as spacers.

Or have I missed the issue? Does the 5S bracket not bolt up to the 1MZ?

I don't know what the bracket looks like for the Celica, as I never had a GT Celica, but the 1MZ's bearing carrier mounting area on the block looks like this:

and yeah, the MR2's S54 axles don't have a bearing. Just a long axle.

What you could do is bolt a sheet of metal there and have the Celica carrier mount cut and welded on in the correct place so you don't need to modify anything else.

That my basic plan i just need to figure out if i have to cut the mount or if i can just bolt it to a blank plate an bolt that to the motor
