...and I don't want to put another celica trans back in. I am looking for something taller as I do a lot of highway. My clutch only has 10k miles on it, so replacing it is out of the question. What are my options? I have a manual GT.
Thanks in advance. |

Camry S51. But the gearing change isn't huge. Why not get another S54 and keep the fun that the Celica has? It's not like the car gets bad gas mileage. I consistently pulled 32 mpg from mine.

Camry transmissions are also cheaper. Besides, for me, I don't ever go down backroads or really have fun...it is a straight 100% highway car, so lower rpm and increased mileage are the order of the day.
Sounds boring, but if I want to have fun, I drive 10 minutes and pull my other car out of my boss' garage. I bought the Celica for the fact that I do get 30mpg easily, it has a decent cargo area, and parts are not that expensive. What years should I be looking at for this Camry trans? |
