What have you done to keep the interest in the car, as it seems that there is nothing else to do. Sometimes i loose interest./

500 or so! lol.
that would be one of the biggest reasons. no support for BEAMS. but its fun to drive compared to the 5s/ But i really dont like turbos. That's hardly even a break in period for a new clutch.. Why don't you ever drive it? No offense, but there is no way you could have reached max fun with it in only 500 miles.. I mean..you modify the car, get out there and drive it. Why would a car need a BEAMS and bunch of suspension goodies to just chill in a garage? Do you actually not like driving turbo cars or just don't like reading about turbo problems? Becuase when it comes to driving them, there is nothing like boost. But anyways.. I have been playing with my suspension settings, is amazing how much different the car can feel just by messing with camber / damper and sway bar settings, I'm still finding the " perfect " tune for it, is fun, interesting and lots of reading / calculating. granted some of the " best " settings are not really for the strret.
on one of those test settings I was having a lot of fun, it really made the car handle amazing, BUT then it started raining and I found myself driving at 40 mph on the highway because of wet surface the car would oversteer very easily on corners, so I switched settings since, I think that's what kept me motivated, than and the fact that I have a 45 miles commute of mixed city / highway / backroads so I can enjoy the car safely. --------------------  |

AKA the sway bars, the car has not been aligned since then, so its not safely driveable, when i painted the bumper, it went weeks. Its like i dont have the patience anymore. Beams is as good as any other swap, i could have swapped a 3sgte, and the same would have happen, ive been driving the FJ. Tidy it up. Clean up any wires in the engine bay, replace any half worn suspension parts ... you know, all the nitpick sh*t. Make a list of all the little (or big for that matter) things you would like to do to it if you had the money and go down the list. Make it your PERFECT Celica.
Idk man ... I kinda got bored with the whole car scene for a while myself. Built Honda/Acura's for so long that it got old. Had a little bit of a resurgence getting into Subaru after I found my rare Legacy Turbo for cheap, but the luster went out of that quick enough. Bought the RDX turbo and was content driving that around and "being a grown up" lol for quite a while before I picked up the Celica. Once I saw all the JDM parts it all came rushing back. I'm a sucker for JDM. Now I'm looking to do a trans swap in this and then probably buy a Supra project. Maybe you need something new too? The 1st gen sounds like fun. I'd like a first gen GT Liftback. Can't remember what year or trim I wanted ... I have a whole book on it at home. Last night I just so happened to ask my fiance if she would drive a 6th gen vert if I bought it for her (instead of the Rustang she wants) she said it HAD to be black ... so maybe if you want to sell it soon, look me up

Really only 500 miles? At that stage I was still disappointed with my Beams! I went through a good few tanks of fuel before I truly loved my Beams swap, and now it just gets better and better.
But like a few others have said, the best way to maintain interest (and spend money...) is to start doing track days. -------------------- |
