I'd be painting either wheel a dark bronze (most likely)

^ What he said.
Varrstoens, exactly how they sit.
XXR's are nice, but very similar to timmyface's i think, Id go with the Varrstoens forsure.

Well here's a question. Would I be able to stretch my 215/40 tires over the 9" wide Varrstoens without it looking hellaflush stretched? Because I'm not a fan of that look. That's why I'm kind of leaning toward the XXRs because I wouldn't have to possibly save up longer for new tires.

Okay, I decided. I'm getting the 17x9 ET35 Varrstoens (5mm spacer in the front and 10mm in the back eventually) with new 225/45/17 Falken 512 tires. All in all, should cost me about $1,200 (ouch). I'll work something out. I'd like this set up before the summer ends. Then I'll start saving for proper coilovers. Thanks for your votes, guys! They definitely helped sway me. Un-sunkenness, here I come.

i guess the vars looks better, but then again both are not legit brand wheels, just fork out a bit more money and save yourself time from getting your dream wheels later. even if you have to get it used.

you know I have the same mindset on getting legit brand wheels.

You could save and get some Gram Lights or some other brand. But the variety in offset and width for 5x100's is very slim with some of those more legit brands. The majority of the 5x100's produced by them are a +40 which is what my grams are, and even with 25mm spacers they still arent flush. Here and there you will be able to find a 17x9 +22. But that is really really rare.

Varrstoens arent too bad of a manufacturer. Id trust them over XXR.

Those cheaper brands have sooo many more available sizes, that is a big reason why they are so popular

Exactly, guys. This is my daily driver and I see no point in spending upwards of $1,000 on wheels. Once I graduate college, land a good job, and can afford better things, I'll be willing to fork out $3k for Volk TE37s for the MKIV Supra that I'll actually be tracking. I see no point in getting really expensive wheels for a daily. I want the "concave" look without getting too pricey and the Varrstoens give me exactly what I'm looking for. And like Mike said, finding a good 5x100 wheel with the more expensive brands is a nightmare. I'll just wait until I have an excellent car with a 5x114.3 lug pattern (I know you can change our cars to that, but why go through the trouble?).

man you have good taste in wheels, i was considering both of these for my soarer.
the XXR 530 look really good in wider sizes because of the concave, but in the 17x8.25 et35 there is basically no concave, not sure if you knew this. this link has pics of that exact size:
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f136/xxr-5...66/index13.html

so i would def say the Varrstoens, 17x9 +35 is epic.
