Hey guys, my 96 ST turn signal has a rapid clicking sound, but I checked the bulb and it was good (I just replaced all the bulbs) and the only problem I see is that the wires leading to the bulb had been cut (on accident?) and retied off with electrical tape. The passenger side looks the same, but they function perfectly.
Could it be the wiring that is bad? The two cut wires are a green and white one and a solid green one. It was working fine a couple days ago, but I don't know what could have happened in a span of two days to cause the issue. TL;DR: turn signal (driver) won't work, replaced bulb, wires had previously been cut but tied off with electrical tape. Passenger side works and it was also cut/tied off as well. Thanks for any input! |

didnt really understand...but are you saying all the turn signals all 4 work correctly, but the only problem is that you are getting the fast flashing lights from the cluster, which acts like one of the bulbs are burnt but they are actually good? a bad bulb can make the cluster signal fast.

^ to add to that. When one of my turn signals blew, the signal inside the car clicked alot faster than usual.
This also done this when i added a certain LED if i remember correctly. Basically, the fast clicking sound is telling you that one of your bulbs on the outside of the car isnt working properly. Try to get all of them working, including the ones that were cut, so your fronts, sides and rears, and make sure they are standard bulbs too ![]() -------------------- |

I just checked the wiring - its blackish. Primarily the number 2 wire which is two toned. I thought maybe the socket was just dirty (which it was) but now I'm thinking that there is a short somewhere. Does anyone know the function of the second wire?
*Edit* Just wanted to add that I did check the fuse inside the driver's side fuse panel. Driver's side blinker does not blink, remain solid when headlights are on, or light up at all. Bulb is fine. Rapid relay clicking signifying problem with turn signals, driver's side rear turn signal works fine. This post has been edited by flavorjunction: Jul 16, 2012 - 11:34 AM |

All I know is that there are 3 wires. One is a ground, one is for the driving lights, and the last one is for the turn signal
Just reconnect the cut one and it should work. This post has been edited by mkernz22: Jul 17, 2012 - 11:42 AM |

I repaired the wire, and there was no effect.
Hazards work, so does that mean that its a relay thing? Are there separate relays for left/right turn signals? I checked the one behind the kick panel and it clicks, so I dunno what to do. I will probably be going through the wires and tracing them back as far as possible. |
