well i connected my subs after being told that i have to conect the remote wire to the yellow wire of the head unit. but the problem is now i have trouble starting up my car.

im not sure what it is but i think the subs are draining the power because even when i turn off the car the head unit is still on, it has a red light the signals as warning. i can see that even when i turn the car off, the amps still light up, which means it is still on. so im thinking since the remote wire is connect to the yeloow power wire, the amp stays on with the head unit.

my car was fine before when i first got the car with the head unit and subs. due to electrical repair on the car, they reconnected my remote wire to the blue wire for the head unit. so my subs ended up didnt work for awhile.

now that i connected it i think its draining all the batteries. i just switch to a new battry, but still having trouble when i started up except if i disconnect the subs.

i have a fuse that connects to the battery from the amps. i dont know what to do now. did i connect the wires the wrong way?? is there other ways to connect the wires to avoid battery drainage?

I have my headunit power hooked up to a red wire. My headunit goes off when I turn the car off. But I know people who have had the same problem as you and they just turn the headunit off before you turn the car off and it fixed the problem.

Yellow on my HU is lights, you dont have to turn you lights on for the sub to go on do u?

Secondly, you dotn want to connect to the constant power. Why? Because its constant and it will constantly be on and if you have something running off the constant, its slowly going to drain you battery. Constant is to hold memory of your radio stations and clock.

You want to connect your remote to your power lead wire for your deck. From my experience, thsi wire is red. But you've connected to a yellow and in my experience thats your light_on wire...so it differs.

Alright, i have a question related to this as well so ill consolidate this thread as not to clutter the board with reposts wink.gif . My question is, which would be better to connect the remote wire to- the power antenna wire, which im 99% positive is blue/white, or should i go with the red 12v power lead to the headunit for the remote for the amp?

Also, IF i have to hook the blue remote wire to the red 12v power wire, where on the red wire should i splice in, and how should the wiring be connected to make sure that im not robbing much power from the headunit?
(By how it should be connected, i mean...should i use a connecter like a clamp on terminal ending with the metal hoop at the end, like the kind that goes on the power wire to the amp, or is there a better way to tap into the line?)

Any accurate and reliable help would be appreciated. Im pretty familiar with wiring and headunits, so you dont have to dumb down your answers for me...I just want to do things right the first time around. wink.gif Thanks.

I connected mine to my ignition fuse(short cut) or I would recommend the ignition wire in back of deck.

I would pick the power lead over the antenna. And connect it to the aftermarket harness. Not only will it save yoru stock wiring most likely its labeled.

Thanks again wink.gif
