Alright, well I just installed my AviStart 4200, it has all the neat stuff like remote start, keyless entry, alarm, etc. I got everything installed, and at the end hooked up those last two wires to the power locks. I hooked them up right and everything...cuz if I would've crossed them then it woulda just unlocked them when I pressed lock...but it dpoesnt do crap. Like I hear the thing switching in my alarm's brain when I press either lock or unlock and those buttons are used to disarm/arm the alarm and that feature works. Does anyone have any idea why this isn't working? I hooked the wires in right by the connector that goes into that panel underneath the driver's side kick panel...I know it's that harness cuz when I unhooked it, the locks didnt work. Help!

Did you use any relays for the locking wires, or did you just directly hook them up? I know that with aftermarket door locks and most factory door locks, you have to use two SPDT relays to interface with the locks. Your alarm manual should describe this.

No, because it says in the manual that the two wires i hooked up are the right ones and they are for negative trigger door locks. although, there was this box type thing they were going to but i cut it off, because the manual described just how to hook it up if you used the little two wires...maybe i did need that box thing! lol i;ll figure it out i guess

The way I did mine was I took the two wires that were used for locking and spliced them into the one for the security system. It takes a bit of custom wiring but all you need is a diode and something to connect the wires with. Make sure that you have BOTH of the wires for locking other wise it will not work. then do the same thing for splicing into the unlocking ones. It might be the other way around though: 2 wires for unlock instead of lock. Sorry if this did not help a lot.
