it does not include torque, but this is no cheating video either, no crops, or alterations..... Its proven, i did it 3 times in a row.

Basically see the video... laugh, enjoy....

the car was on jack stands, to allow me to crawl underneath, and engine was being hold by the side mounts...

Key word is look at the angle i have the mount, and i try to slide the cross-member almost horizontally...

and for all you haters out there i still have 1 hour and 58 minutes to drink my smoothie...

Nice work!
I noticed a distinct lack of poly-mounts tho. Try that again with poly's and I will bow before your prowess wink.gif

unless they are completely very well domed or they are a full insert, the poly mounts make it much difficult to just put the mount into the bracket alone...

not having the b-pipe connected makes a huge diffrence on how easy that rear mount is to get in.
with the bpipe connected, its alot harder to rock the motor enough to do it easily, but with it out, its super easy, just like you posted, berto.
good stuff.

yup, you dont even have to remove the whole bpipe, just disconnect the 3 nuts from the bottom of the downpipe to b-pipe connection, and it makes a huge diffrence. smile.gif

Hi - I have a few questions - I currently have my car on ramps, the rack housing was not allowing me to pull the rear mount out, I tried raising the engine with a hydraulic jack and could not get the what seemed like a quarter inch needed to remove the rear mount so I cut the bolts. I was trying to slip the crossmember in like the video and just do not have the clearance. I notice in the video that he car is sitting on jack stands - is that buying you more space by chance? The engine moves freely I see held by the 2 other mounts. I have not disconnected the exhaust or B pipe. Can anyone give me some advice before I get a mechanic to stop by... At this point I would like to win this confrontation... thanks in advance. I did the post about dropping the sub frame ... never done ... I would prefer not to..

Hi,
The way I have always done mine was to remove the 2 bolts holding the rack & pinion in place, then pushing the rack up to have room to remove your rear mount. If done this way, you don't have to mess with the crossmember or jack the motor up at all.
The 2 bolts holding the rack & pionion do take a little bit of time to take out first time around, but once you figure it out, it is a breeze.
Hope this helps.

Would you happen to be the same guy who bought my intake pipe? haha

Take the B pipe out. You'll definitely have more space to work and get the wiggle room you need. Where is the crossmember hitting to not give you the clearance?

Few clarifications, i had to remove the b pipe and crossmember because i was finishing a tranny job.

to get the mount out, try to do the reverse, hold the mount at the angle and pull the cross member at the same time,

I clarified i had the car was on jacks, because i dont know if it puts the engine that makes the job easier.

just be patient with it.. it always goes in or out.

you guys can try to do the steering trick if all else fails...

I'm going to attempt to take this on myself this weekend.

Have most everything I need, read the how to's, and seen the video.

Just curious if it would be worth getting an engine support bar to make this any easier?

I'm assuming most have just jacked up the engine from underneath and it worked ok with that method?
