Hey guys, I'm new here and I have a question.
Is it possible and how hard is it to swap a 2nd gen 3S-GE engine, which came out of a 5th gen Celica into a 6th gen which has a 7A-FE engine? I searched the forum for quite a while, but i couldn't find anything about it. Any answer would be appreciated. Eric. |

It is possible. The swap would be very similar to a 7a-3S-GTE swap. You'd need a new trans, axles, 3 new motor mounts, wiring harness work, etc. Depending on the cost of the motor, it wouldn't really be worth it for ~160 hp.
Edit: Meant to add, for a very very similar cost and amount of work, you could drop a V6 in your engine bay, have 200 hp and a mountain of torque. IF you want a 3sge, stick to the same gen as your car, the 3rd gen 3sge. Wiring will be much easier and give better power

Thanks. I will stick to third Gen then. I noticed that the gen2 engines were a lot cheaper. I guess its for a reason.
