Ok, I need some SERIOUS help here guys. I went out side this morning before work to worm up my car. after it ran for a few the check engine light came on (UH OH) confused.gif i thought WTF and checked around a bit but evenually had to head off to work. As i was driving down the road (light still on mind you) my Tachometer started to fluctuate. as in it moved up and down rapidly and randomly.ALL OVER THE PLACE!! frown.gif but it didn't effect the engine itself (drove ok). I was worried about it all day at work....finally left wrok and it did it again!! AHHH, but this time it DID effect the engine. The engine basically mimicked the tach's movements (barely made it home). Also while i was trying to make it home, the check engine light (which was still on) started to blink for a bit (maybe 6-8 blips) then went constant again. PLEASE, if anyone has ANY idea of what this might be, let me know. I can't afford to lose my baby. I would GREATLY apprieciate it.

~Chris

You need to take it to a shop and have someone see what code the computer is setting to turn on the check engine light. As far as the tach prob, i have never heard of anything like that, hopefully its related to the check engine.

My speedo started doing that, all over the place. I would be driving 30miles an hour and it'd be pinned at 150 or something. After the swap tho it stopped so i think it had something to do with the sensor.

the speedo in my old car (91 lebaron convertible) would do that all the time, then go down to zero and stay there... never bothered to get it fixed...

Your tach will do that from a bad ground or bad connection. As far as the motor i have no clue there. . . .Def pull the code and go from there.

since it is affecting the engine, I'd lean towards an ignition coil prob, (or a bad ground ) best to get the codes read, some parts stores will do it for free, hoping to sell you the part it points out.
