I've probably had my 96 Celica for almost two years, but haven't been able to work on it. This is my first time on a forum.

For the first 6 months i kept my car stock then this happened

hand to find a new axle, I liked my rims for the time being so I decided to buy another one (sears brand) because it broke in the accident and painted them black

and someone thought it would be funny to take my toyota emblem?

decided to get some HID's and a roof rack

Decided to instal my 12" subs

about 3 months ago i finally decided to put some money into my car and bought some new FRS rims

After that I went to get my fenders rolled

Took my car down to a shop to get my megan racing springs and stagg struts installed

Top pic is before and bottom is after, not much different, just 2"

I was loving how my car looked and drove, and have 35 percent tint and took off my spoiler

three days ago, with 170xxx miles my engine blew

yesterday I picked up an engine with only 5 miles on it, hopefully i have a chance to put it in this week

Welcome! Create a photobucket account, upload ur pics and then copy and past the IMG link on each photo. That's how I post mine anyway. There is also a topic somewhere in the stickies that shows you how.

I decided to take my back seats and my passanger seats to let them dry and clean them

If any one has any good ideas on how to clean my seats that would be great, I dont really pay attention to my seats, but now since i took them out i realized how dirty my back seats are and was wondering if anyone has any tricks to cleaning them or anything.

I have the gt-four hood aswell, from what I've read, the stock hood won't fit with the gt-four bumper. I had to take off the stock crash bar. Right now I'm riding with no crash bar but this weekend I'm going to get the gt-four crash bar cut and bolted on. It's a really easy conversion, I was really surprised

the car looks awesome!!! im going to give some constructive criticism, get rid of that tow hook out the back. Its only making you look like a ricer. Other than that i love how it looks lowered with the FRS rims.

Anyone have any ideas for a turbo on a 1.8L engine?

If you feel the inner part of your fender, mainly the fronts, you'll notice there are like hinges.

Basically because my spacers made me hit my fenders 24/7 with the frs wheels. YouTube fender rolling or google it... I'm not the best at explaining haha

So I was reading about putting a turbo on my 7a, I feel that it would be to much of a hassle, any thoughts of a swap for the future? Since my engine has such low mileage i don't want to get rid of it yet. any suggestion in swaps into my st? It's embarrassing losing to my buddies civic when he has a full car and i have no one in mine.. but for now i guess i will have to suck up the lose... If anyone has some good ideas, please let me know, It might not be soon, but i want to do my research before i do it.

Your basic options are
If you want to use your stock trans ).1 4agze. Good motor ,older only puts you just over a stock gt I think
If you swap to a s54/e153 trans ). 1 3sge beams. Good dd motor, preferred by many, non turbo, but no real mods out there to make more power over stock beams power.
).2 3rd gen 3sgte, big power motor , said to be good as a dd, tons of upgrade parts out there, stock turbo, no real downside out side of some extra mantanance due to turbo being needed.
).3 v6 swap (1mz). Easy to find, good dd (has been for me anyways while I was driving it everyday) good power for non turbo motor.
Takes well to intake an exhaust mods, porting heads, porting intake. Not many aftermarket parts available. But some stock parts can be used for extra power, downsides its not been done alot, not as plug an play as the others, depending on your luck you might be stuck with a check engine light due to trans codes.

or a 2grfe and open a whole can of worms.

best thing to do now, is read, learn all your options. Hate for you to throw away a perfect engine, if its low miles. Because you wont sell it good. So you have some time. Who cares what your buddys car does. If all you want is to beat him, no engine swap is good for you. You need a car swap. Because you will always be power hungry, there is always another car that will be faster. than yours and that is a fact.

if you want to have some fun without a lot of hassle, a beams is good, but thats it, no more, no more modding and the power stops there.

1mz is another option to get a lot of power for less than a beams, requires more legwork.

the 2grfe, lol, never been done... wanna pioneer it?

Take out the rotor and gently hammer them out. Then the new ones are put in from behind. Any you tube video can show you how, as its pretty universal

Lol, those bushings, are somewhat easy to install.

I like the color choice!

Youtube for the lugbolt swap its pretty easy....just remember 90FT/lb of TQ is all you need when you tighten them wink.gif

and the bushings are pretty easy to do as well....I suggest ordering new crushtubes from toyota as well for when you replace the control arm bushings...they're pretty cheap.
If you need help with any of it PM me. We don't live too far away from each other I imagine
