Hello guys.
Today I've installed tein s tech lowering springs on my celi. The front ones are good, dropped like 2cm+ and it is like I wanted, but installing rear lowering springs didn't give that much difference such as the front ones. Also rear tein springs are higher than the stock ones. Is it normal? Can it get more lower during the ride? ![]() Thanks -------------------- |

They drop 3.6cm in the front and 2.3cm" in the rear. So something definitely isn't right then. Are you sure you received genuine Tein springs, people like to sell counterfeits. Here's how to check: http://www.tein.com/counterfeit/ If they check out genuine then something went amiss during installation.

I received them from camskill.co.uk so I think they're genuine.
I checked the box and the springs and they're not fake to use this site. http://www.tein.com/counterfeit/ -------------------- |

Hmmm... Unless someone installed springs some time in the past. With the rear springs installed does it sit lower than it used to?
It just occurred to me, did it say they were specifically for the GT-Four? I remember someone else was looking, and apparently there is a set for the GT-Four and a set for the rest of the models. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

yes part number is SKT72-AVB00 and it's for ST205.
they are pretty new springs. The gap was like 4 fingers between fender and the tire, after installation of the rear springs, gap is like almost 3 fingers. For the front ones gap was 3 and now it's 1.5. i was expecting the gap to get lowered for the rears to 2.5 or 2 fingers. Is it ok? -------------------- |

According to what I can find the springs for the GT-Four drops 37mm all the way around. The one I have drops 36mm on the front and 24mm on the rear. With 14" rims I have about 2.5 fingers front and rear.... Which is strange since I thought they were for the other... I wonder if I ended up with ST205 springs, would explain my car being stiffer than everyone else that installed Tein springs... 4.4kg/3.7kg is a good bit stiffer than 3.9kg/2.2kg... Guess I'll try and see the part number on one of the springs...

They're guaranteed not to sag any more than 5mm from Tein. Well, the way the springs were installed I can't see the part numbers. Oh well.

You may have to give the springs time to "settle" and it may take up to 1 month. I've noticed mine got even lower after the installation of 25mm ichiba spacers all around as well. I'll actually bottom out if i have more than 1 passenger.
It is normal though to have it lower in the front since they state a 1.4" drop in the front and only a .9" drop in the rear. If you'd like i can post photos since im riding on KYB GR2 struts, Tein S-Techs and Im even using KYB mounts. This post has been edited by cyberblader1130: Aug 2, 2013 - 8:56 PM |

The ones for the GT-Four drop 37mm, or 1.45", all the way around though. It's weird that you bottom out though. I have the same setup and it's never happened to me, and I have typical Southern back roads to contend with on a daily basis.

Hmm, not sure then. As long as there aren't any weird noises and it handles as it should I wouldn't worry about it I suppose.

Maybe you got a set of s-techs for a different car? That was my thought, he checked the part number and it was the right set. The world may never know. ![]() -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed
