My question is in the title. If I manage to turn the distributor would that work? Or is there a way to do it with the cams? Thanks. Sorry if it's a stupid question.

From my experience with my obd2 5sfe. Obd2 engines can't be timed by dizzy since the ecu automatically resets it but I'm not too sure about other engines.

^^^ you are correct, the ECU wont let you do it and the distributor is locked into place.
