So a couple weeks days ago I bought a 97st and it has no spark what so ever. I bought new spark plugs, distributor and wires. Installed them and still nothing. Then went and bought a new crank sensor, which by far the easiest thing to do. Took around 20mins total. Tried cranking it over it still do anything. So I was thinking it has to be the fuel pump since nothing is working. My son which is 6 goes dad did you check the fuses? It was the EFI fuse that kept blowing, so I put 30amp fuse in instead of the 15 and on. Runs like a dream.
Moral of the story check your fuses first, it could just be a 10cent fix |

And putting a bigger fuse than it should have could just end up being a hundreds of dollars repair.
Check to see why the EFI fuse keeps blowing, you could potentially melt wiring. -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold

yes, this is the worst thing you can do. you are allowing 30 amps of current to pass through wires that are rated for a lower current. you are going to melt wires and have a bigger problem in the future

well i added the 30amp fuse to see if the car would actually run, it does, but was leaking a crap ton of oil, so last night i replaced the oil pan gasket and cleaned everything up, 30minutes later theres oil all over so i dont if it is from the head gasket or what? I plan on taking the motor out and doing a rebuild on it so i know it is done the correct way. It has a funking idle right now, it goes from 1k to 3k like if you were pressing the gas to rev it up but it does it on its own, i have no clue what it causing that. But im reading all the forums i can for a nice rebuild for the 7afe or a 4agze
