Just wondering how most of you people treat your cars.

I would say I am pretty easy but keep it enjoyable...I might really push it to redline once in a really long while but that's about it.

I drover her respectfully. Every now and then i would really get on it.

Other then that, i drive around the speed limit and try to keep away from other cars biggrin.gif

I'm one of those "I don't even drive it" people. frown.gif But I can faintly remember the times when I could drive it...I was really careful with the car and never did anything too bad for it, though I'd occasionally get on it...those were the days...

well, with my new engine, im keeping it enjoyable

but previous engine, hehe, does melted piston give you any ideas?

lol, seriously, i babyed the car when it was turbo, ran the car for 5 min every morning before driving, drove around most the time with out ever hitting boost, and after boosting for a good amount of time i would let the car idle for about a min then shut her off

and honestly, i never had to push her hard to do what i wanted, the one night i was 100%-ing it was when the piston gave out, after being damaged when the stock fuel pump died

god my car is slow now, and the new engine is getting crap mpg and shakes at idle, i gotta go and yell at toyota.

so now the celica becomes the daily driver, and i am in the first stages of what i call Project Ugly Sleeper-1991 240sx with red top sr20 swap.

but i will always miss my turbo ST setup, from a roll the car was just amazing for what it was, 40-80 in just under 4 sec, 14 sec 1/4 mile, and it pulled all the way till speed cut as much as first gear pulls now that i am NA again.

eventually, i will do something with the celica, but thats after college, i couldnt stand not having her while she was down and getting fixed. even tho she is slow now, i still love the car, the feel, the handling, the look, its a great daily driver but it was an even better turbo car frown.gif (after i see how qatar's full gt4 conversion works out, i might go that route with the car after college)

All depends on the mood I'm in. If I'm passing someone that is going extremely slow then you'll find me in the 6's. smile.gif

not too much redlining right now, damn ice on the roads, but the summer's a different story. actually hit fuel cut off once, but that was an accident, stereo too loud and passing some dumb ass doing 10mph in a 40. didn't even realize it was reving that high until she cut out, since then i've been a bit more careful. tongue.gif

I drive my car hard, pretty much racing every person at a red light whether their racing or not... (the old guy in the buick... I kicked his ass!) but I dont think this means I treat my car like crap. I think their are alot more aspects to caring for the car then just how you rev your engine, I mean after all and engine without the rest wont get you anywhere. Stuff like peeling out or parking brake slides mess with your tires and alignment. Going over speed bumps at 60 would mess up your suspension. Not changing your oil on time is alot worse then driving hard (especialy if you do drive hard).

And besides hasn't anyone ever heard of an Italian Tune Up? I just like to tune my car up everytime I drive it....
