Hello all my 6 gen brothers,

As long as i get so much questions about my car, i desided to do as some of you guys did - create a topic and keep updated. So here i am.

Now as long as most of ya know, what im changing whole look of my car, and adding some engine mood, and i will redo my interior compleatedly.

**** 2004 02 01 ****

Finally, i drove my car to my friend bodyshop, and left it there. The same day i hade few calls about my bumper (im was selling it for about month already), and finally - i sold it. It was sold for 180$ (im kinda sad frown.gif, cuz the price of it for me was a lot bigger). So goodbye for my old look of the car..... Everything is starting all over again.

Here are the pics from yasterday:

We took my front of the car, and i already have my spare bumper laying next. We will make my new bumper out of that stock bumper smile.gif.

I will take pics everyday of process beeing done to my car, so i will keep ya all updated. Stay tuned for more.

I had a dream about your Celica the other night. I'm really messed up in the head I guess, but damn do I love your car. I wish you still had your old front bumper (I'd buy it for twice that!), but I'm sure your new one will be just as cool.. who knows, maybe a few years down the road I'll get a chance at that one! I can't wait to see how the turbo project (that's what's next, right?) turns out, good luck!

My old skirts are still on my car, and these new where made from nothing smile.gif They will be fitted soon, cuz in these pics you can only see the butom part of the side, still missing parts that go on the body. That is just a mold, it still needs a lot of work, but my friend promised me to finish my whole car till this friday. So this week i will have more pics of side mounted on the car, and my new front.

Stay for more....

Hey back from the shop with some pics. Not much was done to my car, but atleast im moving in front... By small steps, but im moving. As i told, i made few changes in skirts.First i told the guy that made them to cut the top part of the skirt in about 1.5 cm lover, cuz they looked a bit heavy, and they only REMINDED varis arising II skirts... And i vant them more like Varis. So he done that, and no he needs to mold the top part again to have what side step on my skirts, what side step will be sticking a bit out from the car, so the sides wount be just flushed to the car like my previuos where.. And as i was told, today they are going to mount them on the car and try to compleat the top part (that goes on the body of car) of the sides. So i will be in a shop today and take some more pics of the progress.

Next thing, i finally got to the shop in with my wheels are. I bought thoses wheels like 2 month ago, but i only payed half of money, so i need to pay another half and i will take them from the shop. But anyway, anjoy and tell me what you think.

Changed sideskirts:

For the guys like NEVERSTOP or anyone trying to make somthing custom, and for those that dont know how to STICK TOGEHTERE poliuretanium (stock bumper) with somthing from fiberglass, here is a TIP OF THE DAY smile.gif :

If you wanna connect somthing to the bumper from fiberglass, you have to drill lots of holes (see the pics). you have to drill these holes in the place there are you trying to mount that part that you need. After what, put some fiberglas from the iner side of the bumper in the place where the holes are, and let it dry. So, after that youll be able to stick anything to the bumper. Just cut some small squares of the fiber glass, mix a lot of them with the resin, and put that stuf on the holes, after that put that part that you need to stick togehter and screw it with some screws.

Sounds a lot like attaching fiberglass to ABS plastic for things like door panels. People suggested drilling holes in the existing plastic, and then laying the fiberglass on, heavily in the areas where the holes are, so that it gets through the hole. They then suggested putting pieces of fiberglass on the opposite side of the existing plastic to ensure that the new fiberglass doesn't go anywhere. I think this is the same process that you're talking about, but they didn't mention using any screws. wink.gif

ya its the same process, screws are just to hold the part that you attached. They have to be removed then the fibergalss is dry.

yea that does work.. there has been alot of debate on where or not that method can really hold up though over time, under constant flex it will begin to make small cracks underneath everything where your fiberglass meets the ureathane and eventually the cracks will grow larger and larger until it starts to come threw the paint.. granted if your not plannin on keepin it for more than 5+ years or so it doesnt matter that much but its not a method I have ever felt comfy with but no big deal.. wink.gif

Those sideskirts look really good.. but not quite sure which side is the top though:D

****** UPDATE 2004 02 19 ******

Vent to the shop, to see somthing new, and atleast i saw sides already cuted and mesured on to my car, and my new front is moving along not that bad smile.gif Still missing upper parts on side skirts, they will be made then sides are fitted. And for the front bumper, side air dams are still uncuted, and some foaming is left to do to make a compleate form, still need to make a place for the supra signals, and some other small stuff. But anyway, pictures say more then any words smile.gif

The foam is poliuretanium foam (its like a macroflex (used in home building) but is dryes instantly (5 min.)) Nope, i wound fiberglass whole bumper, just the places there the foam and other stuff used.

The finish IS TOMOROW, im very Exited smile.gif Can wait to take it home and take the mods to another level.... ENGINE.....mmmmmmm smile.gif
