Hey all,

I bought my car because I drove one in high school and LOVED it, but had many problems with it (234,000 miles so it makes sense). I am new at all this so I have only done small projects so far but have seen a lot of you do cool stuff that I would love to learn how to do. Just bought a 4Runner though since I needed a very reliable daily driver and now I don't have room for my Celi. I am trying to decide if I should sell it and maybe try again down the road when I have more time, money, and space or if I should just put it in storage until I can give her the TLC she deserves. I love the car so it is worth more to me than I could get for it, but I am in the military and will be done training (aka moving) in about 4 months so keeping it could be a logistics nightmare. Trying to keep this short, so I will stop there. What would you do?

PS. Live in P'Cola and have seen a couple 6GC's around so hi neighbors if you are on here!

If you can't get what you want for it then keep it. Just make sure to properly store it, drain the tank and fuel lines, elevate it so furry creatures can't get into it, take the battery out, etc... Preferably stored in a dry area. Ehh, another option might be have a family member or friend drive it so it doesn't have to sit.

Storage fees can creep up on you plus the fact that youd want it insured. The sentimental value is one thing, monetary value is another. 2 years of storage fees is roughly 1400 usd, and insurance at least liability another another 800 in those 2 years. Storage units are not responsible for damages. And i say liability because you may want to take it out once in a while.

If you want to keep it invest in a good car cover. If not. Sell it.

If this helps my convertible is in the garage. My sti in the driveway

How much are you thinking about letting it go for? What are the issues you are having with? And lastly, where exactly is P'Cola? smile.gif

Yes, P-cola is what we call it (I was born there and grew up nearby).

I'm also a vert owner. I love it and don't plan on selling it, especially with all the stuff I've done to it. If I were in your situation I probably would get it running well and drop the 4runner.

Problems have been mostly engine related. Bought it used and the engine had recently been replaced. 6 months later found oil along most of the underside of the car so had all new seals put in the engine along with some other stuff, but no it doesn't leak. That actually fixed the afterfire I was having too. Water pump gear sheared off somehow so did a whole new timing belt job while they were in there. Also replaced power steering pump and fixed the back left window which break a lot on the convertibles. If I did sell it I would want around $2.5k, but would probably let it go for less if it was someone I knew would take care of her or to help out a young enlisted person looking for a inexpensive car. I almost think of it as a cheap education if I hang on to it though which makes me lean toward keeping it, but then I have to store it and insure 2 vehicles. Still a tough call.

Sounds like it should be fairly sorted out now though, so why not use it instead of the 4-Runner?

If you like it keep it. It's getting harder and harder to find good one worth putting money into
