I've not pulled looked at the setup in a while below the center console, but was wondering if it's possible to swap the USDM one for a RHD version.
Seems like it would be much more convenient for the e-brake to be on the far side of the shifter, rather than the drivers side. Anyone know, or have an opinion, figured I would ask before I have one shipped,. anyone have both sitting around? Thanks |

the ebrake, would tilt, very weird. towars the passenger.
not sure if you have to redrill holes for the rhd ebrake. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I hardly log in anymore, last login Today Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOL

I have seen people in europe convert JDM cars to LHD, and have left the handbrake on the other side. It looks weird, and in cars that have had a lot of money put in them, so not sure if that says it is hard to do or not. -------------------- ![]() SOLD :( 1997 ST204 Celica ZR -----> See it here on 6GC! 2013 October Celica of the Month XD Now: '00 NB8B Mazda MX5 -----> See it here in off topic! |

Just a guess but I would imagine in you got the RHD EBrake assembly and other tidbit from under thatppart of the console it would be mucheeasier.

I don't remember what the mounting looked like for the e-brake but I would imagine that as long as you got the full e-brake assembly for the center console, aside from maybe drilling a hole for the brake line it would bolt right in. Of course the final look would all be preference of the owner, a little more convenient for your passenger to pull the handle lol

It seems that the parking brake will interfere with 5th gear if i just swap to the RHD setup, but the more i consider it, the more i wonder why it wasn't done this way from the factory.
Looks like a bit of work, but finding parts now. Seems like I've found the plastic but if anyone has the parking break assembly pm me.. maybe some other stuff too |

njccmd2002 Is that a 7th Gen Parking Brake Lever? that might be an interesting way to go,. right now I have theEnd looking for a RHD console, and brake lever for me. I've bought a few more of his odds and ends and he's going to hold out and box everything up together, if he can get his hands on them.
