I started with what I know to do, I swap engine into my car, I knew it was too much work to make it a AWD. I kept it FWD. Went to take a crack at doing the wiring conversion. Than, I realize, shoot, this is out of my league.

Cant do it without getting all the proper components for it. Its completely electronic vs our mechanical one.

Is it? I always wondered how different it was. The only writeup about it on here doesn't specify

I'm dealing with the same problem right now. I've just bought a climate control unit and the seller didn't get the point: I told him I needed the wiring too, but all he did was cut all the wires from the back of the unit, leaving 2 plugs in the unit.
The control unit is from a rhd and my car is lhd, but I' ve found a way to install it.
Now I need to know what needs to be done and what do I need to buy in order to make it work.

You need all wiring, all sensors (including the tempsensor located on top of the dash of a rhd gt4) and all motors which control various valves in the cooling ducts.

Its not an easy install. Period. It has been tried before. Not sure if he succeded. Is it worth it? Probably no, unless you must have it. The rhd control unit box wont fit the lhd. And retrofitting the motors to the lhd may not be doable.

It's something I've researched like so many others, then came to the decision that it just wasn't worth my efforts unless I were to import a split car from the other side of the world giving me everything.

I've also debated on using an arduino as a "man in the middle" to eliminate and simulate the requests then transfer those requests via stepper motors and programming to what I would want from the hvac. This is what I would do to integrate it into a carputer, or tablet and eliminate or relocate the current controls.

And make something simple so complicated. The jdm controls are cool. But not that much
