 Speedo not working |

my speedo is not reading, the mechanic said it was the speedo sensor that plugs into the trans, so i bougt one from the junkyard and installed it, still didnt work, so..he now says its some computer problem. You guys know what the problem could be? I dont want to talk it to the dealer and get ripped off.

aftermarket gauges sometimes screw it up.

I dont have aftermarket gauges, the other gauges work.
