Ok, I have read too much and im utterly confused. I got in a wreck recently and im looking at the possibility of a bodykit bumper on the front. From what I have read alot of these require the removal of the front support bar right? I dont want my insurance company to not caugh up if something happend because I took out the front support bar, so what bodykits, if any, are in a reasonable *under 600 MAX* price range?

Of course its a problem,

1. You dont want the only thing protecting the front of your car a thin piece of fibre glass.

2. You get in an accident and total your car, the claim investigator comes to look at your car and sees no bumper support, right there your contract with the insurance company is void, they dont pay for peoples stupidity.

as long as you dont modify the bumper support beam then you shouldnt have a problem. my friend got rearended with a bodykit on and the insurance still covered the damages.

the z1 is just a lip. it attaches to your stock bumper, so you keep the support bar. you can slightly modify the invader bumper (which is a whole replacement bumper) to keep the support bar. i know john (x_itchy_b_x) did it to his front bumper, he's gonna help me do it to mine when i get my kit (hopfully sooner than later)

DUDE the Z1 isnt a lip its a full bumper u must be thinking of the type z or 404 one thats just a lip. I think u could modify the bumper to fit without taking off the support beam. Hell u might not even have to do that.

most of the kits are made to incorprate the support beam... I dont think any modification is needed, unless its a crappy kit.

i know the invader kit isnt made to fit it... maybe the original veilside kit is, but all the companys that sell the knockoff kits have to be modified...

i doubt it, really the only difference between an actual Veilside kit and the knockoffs is the material, and very minor shape adjustments or flaws, nothing like a major design change, besides the 1 piece 2 piece. the bumper would look completely different if they left room for the support beam and didnt have it sticking out a bit.
