I'm not sure what we would do; but since Zeen is in Joliet, and Jake/Sammy are in Marengo, maybe we do an Oakbrook/Naperville/DeKalb thing? I'm just tossing ideas out there.....

but there's lots of nice parks and hiking trails. I'd love to go to Devil's lake and do a hike there. I don't go much further south than Madison really so I'm not sure the areas south of that but the ice age trail goes through Wisconsin and I'm sure there are nice places to hang out. If not, Wisconsin Dells is always an option but it might be too cold for this meet. Maybe next year's spring/summer meet.

I'm not a complete fan of flying around in a metal tube of recycled fart air but it sure beats driving 15hours to a not very exciting place even when there is family here.

Never heard of that track - just looked it up. It's only about 50 minutes from me (cool!).

I used to race karts growing up (nationally), but I've never driven a road car on an actual track before (or even a parking lot with cones). If I or my family was rich, I would without a doubt race some sort of something. The thing with racing is that unless you're rich, it's purely a hobby that costs money. I decided that years ago, that I would eventually build a street car that I can have fun with on the road, as well as take it to the track when I'd like. That way, I'm not stuck with a garage'd/trailer'd race car that I can only drive on the weekends.

I grew up around dirt circle track racing, and even that will make you broke, and quick! My father used to race late models, and the costs associated with them is just stupid.

How was the Tail of the Dragon? I would like to get a group together to road trip down there sometime! I think all those curves would be so much fun! I saw somewhere that a 1st gen Celica group does it every year. I'd love to meet up with that crew as well.

We went with the celicatech group every year for a good 7 years. But now that we're all starting families, it's hard to make the time to meet up from all over the country like we used to be able to.

Driving the Dragon is a good time, but towards the end, we would be down there for 3 days, and only run it once. It was more family reunion than driving trip. The road itself does not mess around. You want some serious driving, almost every road in the area takes concentration.

I've heard police presence has increased along the trail as well in recent years due to inexperienced drivers taking on the dragon. Not sure how true that is though.

Uhhhhhh I know it's not the norther burbs but we've been to a place called Waterfall Glenn that was super nice, it's a huge loop to walk and no way we'd walk it all. I think that's more west than north, it's off 355 by Morton Arboretum maybe. Haha I guess that's kind of still south. Oh I guess there's a big forest preserve over near where we had the dinner meet a while back, and Erin's aunt just opened a new branch of her restaurant Trulucks in Rosemont but I don't think it's the kind of place we'd go eat for a car meet.

Jordan: We had dinner at the Gino's East in Rosemont when Daniel and Brigette were here for the doggo. Is that what you are talking about? If so, yes, there are a few forest preserves in that area, but more importantly a big parking garage that can be utilized.

Annette: The normal dinner location is Giordanos in Minooka. Still farther than we can go, so it doesn't change our attendence.

6gc fam so I was planning on going early for abit to the meet but will need to leave soon as we are adding a member to my family we are expecting our 1st child and last minute plans we are having a gender reveal/ Halloween party on Saturday so seems like yous haven’t decided what’s going to happen but if yous want to come yous are all more than welcomed to come if yous do it can be a gender reveal/Halloween party/celica Meet at my house 🤔😂
