Hi Guys,

I'm having an issue with the left rear brake on my Celica.

It started just before I changed my discs and pads and went away for around 800km of driving on the new discs and pads.

When I changed the brakes I regreased all of the caliper slide pins etc and bled the brakes and had absolutely no issues until the noise came back about 3 weeks later.
The grease on the suspect caliper slides did look a little dirty and dry, so I thought I solved the issue when I cleaned it up and regreased it.

I've had another look at it again and regreased it, it made the noise slightly less noticable for about a day and but now it's very audible and I can feel it in the brake pedal again, it only makes noise at about 30km/h and under.

The strange thing is the caliper seems to slide fine, very similarly to the other side when I grab it and try to move it around with the wheel on.

I there something else I should be looking at? Other than that the car seems to stop fine, though the brake pedal is a little spongy and still goes all the way to the ground if I press it when stopped with a little force.

Thanks

you can test it by lifting up the car and testing between regular brakes and emergency brakes and moving it forward and backward. inside the drum, sometimes the backing plate gets corroded and it cant slide or adjust. you can just sand it and anti-seize grease the areas, but thats if this is the case.
