I hear many people having alot of trouble with popping out the passenger air vent. I have been painting a bunch of dash pieces and thought i would tackle it today. I started going from the sides with a flat head with no luck. I finally went at it from the top, which is where the two metal clips are holding it in. That takes care of the top of the vent, however, the bottom has two plastic pieces hanging from it that really don't serve a purpose, but once you pop the metal clips from the top off, it's just a matter of pulling the entire unit out and up. I hope it works as easily for others as it has for me. Good luck.

I took me about 5 minutes to get it out. Just pry back and forth. It will feel like you are going to break it but it comes out eventually.
