So I was removing my steering knuckle and I had to rotate the strut (still bolted up on top) and it makes this loud rubber? rubbing like noise.. is this normal? seems to be the same on the other side as well.
I'm just trying to fix up my 94 GT to be road worthy again. It need a clutch, replacement steering knuckle, and I think the front main seal is leaking pretty bad. -------------------- |

It sounds like the rubber in the strut mount that goes on top of the strut and bolts up to the underside of the strut tower. I just changed my struts last week and mine were making the same noise as I was undoing the strut top nuts and the strut was rotating slightly. As long as there aren't chunks of the rubber coming out of the top mount you should be fine.
