Is there somewhere in a BGB about pulling the 5SFE engine from a 94? I'm looking for a decent how to'ish like the 5th gen BGB.
I'm stuck on a few things like how to get to the rear motor mount.. I popped off the two plastic covers on the crossmember? but where do those 3 bolts (2 in one, 1 in the other) goto? -------------------- |

The large bolt Smaay is referring to is the bolt that holds the mount to the back of the transmission. It is easiest to see from the drivers side wheel well once the tires are off.
The best way ive learned to take the rear mount out was to undo thet two bolts and one nut that holds the mount to the crossmember and then take out the two bolts holding the steering rack into place. Once the steering rack bolts are out, it will give you enough play to push the steering rack up and the rear mount will come right out. Edit: with a little wiggle work. you will have to undo the front motor mount as well so that way you can pivet the crossmemeber up and down to help get the rear mount out. That is exactly how I do it. This works. Have patience, its going to suck no matter what you do. |
